Good solo!! It’s one the most underrated solos imo. Fast, direct, and perfect for the song.

This solo and bringing on the heartbeat made me pick up the guitar! In this case, less is much much more. There is absolutely nothing difficult about this solo until you hit that why don't i sound quite like Steve wall . . .
@astro-blaster41903 жыл бұрын
@@_Chipster I agree. And the tone and arrangement and style of play. Still my favorite Def Leppard solo
@quarantineclips4882 жыл бұрын
That is one tasteful solo. Almost sounds like Steve overdubbed an acoustic/electric type of pickup on the fast, intricate part of it - or double-tracked it with both distorted and clean tones. clean and mean!

I remember stealing this cassette from my sister and popping it in my walkman and instantly falling in love with Rock and roll. 33 years later and I still listen to them daily. These are some of the greatest most emotional and melodic riffs ever written.

You and bwm5150 should get together and make some sort of a collab thing. One of you could play Steve/Vivan parts, and the other could play Pete/Phil parts. Maybe get a bassist and drummer on board. You guys have the most accurate Def Leppard covers available.

Man what I really dig about you, is you are the only one aside from myself,that I have seen play the Armageddon It solo correctly. All the tab books try to get you to do that open e string instead of the e note on the g string in the ninth fret, and that makes a big difference in the tonal sound. Outstanding brotha, Great job, Good tone too! Look foward to more videos from you!

Love this performance, watched it a number of times. Steve Clark and Phil Collen guitar inter-play is so rich and well-executed that they rarely need power chords. Excellent example of musicians working together on composition. Kenyon you're the man now dog!!!
@patrickhook4424 Жыл бұрын
Theres lots of power chords here. Sometimes people forget Def Leppard is just a more technical AC/DC with synths.

I’ve seen your previous videos doing the same song and I must say it gives me great encouragement to keep playing, knowing your success here can be the outcome from much practice. You MUST have a tremolo on these songs as Steve used his Kahler just magically. If only "The Riffmaster" could have seen the impact he's had and continues to have on future generations. Amazing. Smiling while riffing to a classic Leppard song that "Steamin" mostly created.
@_Chipster2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, playing the right notes in the right order doesn't mean you have played it correctly if you aren't using tremolo. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmWQY5WVgbWajNk shows it

'The Riffmaster' loved this song - and it is one of the songs live where he used his Gibson Firebird - in interviews he said that his Firebird "gives that dirty heavy sound". The above is a really good example of the intricate way Steve put together his melodies, harmonies, bends, and pure riffing. Steve Brown from Trixter once said "Steve's guitar parts were created in small boxes - they were incredibly complex to play live". Indeed. The Denver Colorado gig imo remains 'the gig'.

Very accurately played, great tone (as well as a great Lester to boot) and you can clearly see the love for the song on your face as you're playing! I'm primarily a Bassist/Chapman Stickist who fools around on guitar for songwriting purposes, jamming/learning songs I like, and the occasional "2nd Rhythm Guitar". I'm working on Def Leppard as they were the first band I "fell for" (got the back catalogue, purchased singles &, was my 3rd Live Show) and will be seeing them with my Better-Half in just under two weeks.)

@vader8011 Hey Vader thanks for the comment. I typically do not supply a verdict on any of these studies, instead leaving it up to the audience. We'll see what that is... :-)
