@@jp3813I remember a lot of male fans saying they “sold out” back in the day because this album sounded more like electric pop than Pyromania. IMHO they don’t understand the sound had to change to more of synth vibe to keep Rick Allen in the band after he lost his arm and had to go to electronic drums. Of course the sound is going to change, but I always loved it.

One of the reasons I really love Def Leppard is that they're a true 'band'. It's not all about Joe. Pretty much every member of the band is considered a focal point, they all get their stage presence out there, and they all are the show...not any one person. It's something I've always strived for in bands, and had only once or twice out of many, many tries. :-)

This song came out when I was in high school and my wrestling squad would always come out and work out before a meet to this song. We had it synchronized so that we were doing our running, pushups, stretches, and other exercises in full view of the other team while this song blared on the speakers. Many times they stood and stared at us so long it interrupted their warm-up and it quite frankly scared the hell out of them. I think this song probably got us 12-18 points in every meet that season. A bunch of us got tickets to see them when they came to town. They are amazing in concert! Thanks Def Leppard!! Great Reaction guys!

I was fortunate enough to see the Hysteria tour when it came to my city in the 80s. I can vouch that the concert was fantastic and pretty much looked/sounded just like this video. I agree with Jay that "Armageddon It" has a more "pop" sound than some of their out-and-out rockers, but it was still one of the best songs on this album. Not that there was a bad one on it. (The only one I am at all sick of 35 years later is "Pour Some Sugar On Me," simply because it was played nonstop on radio and in my opinion is the most formulaic song on Hysteria.) I recommend listening to the album in its entirety from start to finish, that's the best way to experience it. And that album really is an experience!

"Armageddon It" peaked @ #3 for 2 weeks (released mid-Nov. 1988/ probably peaked in early 1989); Def Leppard charted 19 singles in the Billboard Hot 100 between 1983 - 1996; 13 in the Top 40, 4 in the Top 10 featuring one #1 "Love Bites"-- the single released just before this one.

The footage from the video is pretty historic... taken from the live concert video "In the round, in your face"... It captured Def Leppard at a peak during the 'Hysteria' tour between 1988 - '89, which was also the last tour featuring original guitarist Steve Clark - the band's rock star, who sadly died in 1991 after a long battle w/ alcohol and drug addiction. A lot of Def Leppard songs are prominent from the 80's, but their work in the 90's and beyond should also be check out... songs like 'Tonight'... 'Desert song'... 'Work it out'... 'Promises'... 'Heaven is' ... 'Slang'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥

Desert Song is amazing, mostly insturmental, but amazing nonetheless. I'd add 'All I want is everything' to the list as well, one of their best slow songs and should be much more well known.

Saw these as they were starting out. They played one night when our band had a night out. Our bassist said these boys will go far

Not sure if y’all know this but one of the reasons Def Leppard is considered a hell of a great band with great members is because when Steve Allen had his accident in 1984 and lost his left arm, the band stopped touring. Even on the heels of their smash album Pyromania they just stopped everything and waited for him to recover fully rather than replace him. Allen came back to relearn his drumming an AMAZING 3 months later. He now uses a special pedal set that was developed to allow him to use one foot to drum the left HAND parts. Flat out miraculous all by itself. He plays barefoot now basically out of necessity because of the adaptations.

Def Leppard may not be the heaviest band, but they more than make up for it with their harmonies, production, and general tunefulness. Great song choice, guys!

Just saw them last Friday! If you get the chance to go see them take it! All together it was Joan Jett, Poison, Mötley Crüe, and Def Leppard closed. It was 8 hours! Had a blast!! Rick Allen smiled through the whole set and you could feel the drums in your chest! And I was in the nosebleed seats of a baseball stadium!

I have always loved this band! My dad has their Vault Greatest Hits Album, and he had that playing in our minivan CONTINUOUSLY for YEARS!!! As a result, I got to know all fifteen songs lyric for lyric, and this is number ten! Thank you for giving us all this great reaction!! If you want a different side of Def Leppard, I would react to Two Steps Behind... its acoustic version is SO relaxing!!

I saw this tour with Tesla opening up, and this was the first time anybody put the stage in the center of the arena instead of at the end. Neither band was prepared for how much more space they had to cover. You got to watch their doc. Great show...miss those days!

This video comes from their world tour during which they used the "in the round" like a Shakespeare play; something no other band had ever done before. They said it was an interesting but exhausting experience. So they wouldn't ever do it again. They had realized that at any given moment they would have their backs to some part of their audience. So they had to always be on the move to give everybody their money's worth by getting to see them, which, after all, was why they bought their tickets.
