Joe is such a great guy. I met him in Dublin numerous times in 1987. I worked down the street from his apartment. Just so down to earth and friendly. Strangely, I met Peter Noone in NYC in 1988? I had no idea who he was but he was staying at a place on Park Ave where I worked. It was after he left that someone told me who he was. He had a show on VH1 at the time and was filming in NY. Also, a very nice, friendly guy. Class acts both of them.

Gary & Guy-What an absolutely wonderful and informative conversation! This is the best interview I’ve heard so far. I believe it’s because all of you are musicians and have a point of reference in the UK. I’m a sound engineer, and I love hearing about the technical aspects of recording music. Joe is a music historian, and I could spend hours listening to his stories and recollections. I intend to listen to more of your interviews. I’m listening to this great interview while drinking a Guiness! If I ever see Joe, or any of his mates, I’ve got a few rounds for you guys. Hard work will get you everywhere. I watched this yesterday and returned to make a comment a day later. thoroughly entertaning and informative podcast about Def Leppard and Joe Elliott's experiences during their career. I'm about the same age as Joe, I've been in bands and been singer/guitarist in bands but never got anywhere but I did do some recording and produced a limited edition CD album back in the late 1980s. I enjoyed listening to Joe and what he had to say, always interesting he never deviates from his story he tells the truth. I've listened to his story countless times just some additional information and shippets he tells which is so informative about the music industry , recording and being in a band. The man can sure tell a story the only thing is how the Hell do you write lyrcs to complete songs afterwards after writing the music? I always write them together. Blew me away that information but there again Def Leppard did work with Mutt Lange so there you have it..

Nice interview with Joe by Gary and Guy. 'Heavy Metal' was a bit of a silly label but possibly the reason why Def Leppard were called 'Heavy Metal' was because they were formed in SHEFFIELD where there are a lot of Steelworks....lol.... I remember when 'High & Dry' came out in the early 1980s it was clear that something very powerful was happening...Pyromania was the album where things went Stratospheric Worldwide....You can hear the evolution in Def Leppard's sound between High & Dry & Pyromania... I think Peter Mensch was also managing Michael Schenker at that point when Michael was cutting his own path with MSG ....In a way what was really disappointing was the way UFO didn't break really huge in the States like Zeppelin did. They were on the brink of it in 1977 with the U.S chart success of the 'Lights Out' album but UFO failed to cross that trans Atlantic threshold.....But whereas the British band UFO failed here Def Leppard SUCCEEDED...In the 1980's American audiences just went ballistic for their sound. (Paul)

Love Joe. You'd think listening to this that people in the music industry knows everyone else. So it blew my mind when I came across a video call he had with Dave Grohl a couple of years ago, which was the first time they met. Dave was also apparently a fan. Unfortunately, I've never been able to see them live for one reason or another. Closest I got was when I was living in Cardiff and they were touring with Whitesnake. Unfortunately, just as I was planning on going, we were involved in a car crash because of some idiot on his phone. Living on Anglesey, it would probably be easier and less stressful to just see them in Dublin one time. Next time ... and I hope there will be a next time.

I met Joe two times, before Vienna concert in 1996 and before Sheffield concert in 2003.

It's weird to say this but I never really got Bowie as everybody loves him. I think Fashion is brilliant and Blue Jean and maybe Ashes to ashes but that's about it. Always fun to listen to Joe Elliott.

Guy infuriates me with his interruptions. Even worse they're always so pointless and usually to say something about himself
