A beautiful young lad who just couldn't fight his demons😭
@angelamartin-meyer71103 жыл бұрын
His demons was his father. So full of jealousy, he could not tell him once that he was proud of him. He put him down and told him the band should have paid the audience for coming. He told Rick Allen that his dads voice was always in hid head telling him he wasn’t good enough. (I can’t quote the exact words).

@williambroadstreet33536 жыл бұрын
The loss of 'The Riffmaster' is in and of itself incalculable, but to put Steamins real value and greatness into context look at Leppard's lack of success since he passed. Steve had it all, he oozed rock star but he was the primary song writer and was the architect of Leppard's wonderfully heavy and artful melodies, riffs, hooks and bends. Thank God we still have video of this genius. One of the most under rated criminally so guitarists in rock history.

my theory on why the media put January 7 instead of the 8 on Steve Clark death is because London is 6 hours ahead of the USA east coast ... When the media got the news it was still January 7 on the east coast of the USA. and no one gave it any thought of the time zone differnts of the two...

Steve was not a big fan of bands like Poison and other make up hair bands like that, had he not died in '91 he would've loved the arrival of grunge.
@sashizakura91243 жыл бұрын
He was already into The Cure (said Phil in an interview) so it would not surprise me if he could see that the tide was turning, and bands like DL were about to go out of style. Maybe Steve, in his depressed state, felt it would be the end of the road for his success - Dad would have been right after all. OR, maybe he felt a calling into alternative rock, grunge or some new style of rock that would stimulate his creativity, and just had no way to articulate that to the band in a way that wouldn't let them down.

@Def Leppard RockBrigade - This announcement was not made on August 9th, 1991, this announcement was made on JANUARY 9th, 1991. I remember it to this day, it was a Wednesday, just a few months before my high school graduation. I was headed into town, in my 83' Dodge Colt, and the sun was in my eyes, making it hard to see. The local radio station Sweet 98.5 announced it, and suddenly it was way harder to see, as the tears streamed down my face... my sister couldn't understand what was wrong. They were my favorite band, he was my favorite guitarist.

{ Mark 8:36 For what does it profitt a man to gain the whole world but lose his own soul .} I grew up loving Def leppard in the 80s I was young so long ago . I am old now middle aged all these years later I saw this and remembered how tragic it was . And also looking back now as a born again Christian how important accepting Jesus Christ as our personal savior is . You can gain the whole world in the end iot means nothing . When we die we either go to heaven with Jesus if we know him as our personal savior . And you go to hell if you have rejected him . Eternity will be forever . Jesus is the only way . RIP Steve Clarke .

Absolutely agree. I grew up with the 80/90’s hair bands & DL has always & will be my fav secular group. I was 14 when SC passed on. I’m also a guitarist. At 24, I accepted Christ as my Lord n’ Savior. Nowadays, I mostly listen & strum to Christian music, but I will admit there’s a part of that ‘old creation’ that likes to break out some DL & jam to it. Not cuz it brings back memories of my unsaved life, but cuz of the rock riffs that were unique to DL. I pray, somehow, Jesus touched SC’s heart before Leavin’ this world.
