I played MH stories in my 3ds and I reaaaaly want to play it on switch. which one is better related with price, doing preorder or just buy it after launch? People said that its no use to preorder as we can get a cheaper price after launch

In the flying fortress you can find a dagger called the ripper, it's effective against humanoid enemies and all of the portal bosses are humanoid. By using it you can completely bypass any damage reduction they may have and even guarantee yourself constant crits if it's being wielded by a phantom. Combine that with the bastion skill that gives you bp when you perform a crit and you can basically just spam 4 godspeed strikes every turn without having to worry about losing turns

Here are two alternatives if people don't want to grind for Beastmaster captures: 1. Have all characters be Freelancer/Thief. Ideally you'll want to have Freelancer at lvl 15 for Mimic, but this strat is doable without it; it'll just be very MP-hungry. Passives are Across the Board, Surpassing Power, Epic Group Cast and Bare Knuckle Brawler. Make sure to not equip any weapons. In the boss fight, have the first character Brave 3 times, use Godspeed strike once on all the bosses, then Mimic the rest of their turn. The other people can then Mimic off this Mimic. If you don't have Mimic, then spam Godspeed Strike. For the Bastion fight, swap Across the Board and Epic Group Cast for Noble Sacrifice and Natural Talent. You won't be able to inflict Godspeed Strike on all anymore, but you can still win the fight with 3 people alive. Upsides of this strat are that you don't need a lot of MP at all if you're using Mimic, and no bosses resist knuckles so no problem with resists (at least before using buns to buff your stats until resists become a non-issue). 2. Have all characters be Hellblade. Required passives are HP/MP Convertor, Across the Board and Surpassing Power. In the boss fight, simply have two characters use Ultima Sword on all the bosses. Each Ultima Sword will do 99999 to all bosses, thus two Ultima Swords will wipe the bosses. When fight ends, simply use a Tent. Rinse and repeat. This works for all bosses, even the Bastion. Downside of this strat is the slightly longer turnaround time due to needing to use a Tent. Since Hellbaldes are kinda slow, you can try giving them Speed-boosting gear or equip the Ringmaster's Spear to gain access the the Spearhead passive.

Godspeed Strike has been what I have brought down the bosses with lately (around elvis town)- glad to know it will work later- im just in chapter 3 but was curious about those "portals" suspected it was late game challenges as well, good to know! And great guide!

@@PoogieBoogie Just use this to finish last portal at level 68 hard mode without buns farming ^^. FYI : I just made some change . Attackers gets Bestmaster's Brute force instead of fast hands (both with 2 dagger equip). White mage gets Red mage's revenge instead of full force and bard gets spearhead (so he start with the sing without having to default) instead of unshakeable will.

I saw on omegaevolution's channel him using salve-maker class to consistently place statuses on the bosses. He used compounds and I think the skill results guaranteed to constantly place status effects for the whole battle. Also, it was on hard mode

Beastmaster break. Use Phantom speciality #2 guarantees monster capture. 40MP guarantees results for anything with percentage chance . Aka attack all enemies with phantom class using indiscriminate rage, beast whisperer to capture, and aspir attack to maintain your MP.

This sounds a lot like the build I used but my main offense was Muzzling Maelstrom. It's a Beastmaster attack so you can give everyone a support job in the 2nd slot. Good stuff as always!

I thought I had a good thing going with Adelle and a buffed up Amplified Strike (which got me through to the end of the game), but Godspeed Strike takes the portal bosses down even faster! I’ve binged the entire BD series since December and just finished BDII the other day - it’s been too much fun so I’ve just been maxing everything out, trying to get those cool boss weapons with the passive abilities, and beat the hidden challenge boss! After watching your videos I’m debating a NG+ with some of the builds you’ve recommended for a fresh experience 😄

i only got one draconic lance, the thing is super rare and Martha's jump makes the battle super annoying. btw I combine godspeed strike and bravebearer passive "across the board" for efficiency

I just used the última sword method. Make 1 char a hellblade, give them either Adam's sword or surpassing power, Anihals spear in the other hand for the spearhead ability to make them move first, across the board from bravebearer, hp/mp converter to use hp instead of mp, also increasing última sword by so much that at full hp it does 99,999 damage, which across the board it hits everyone, so you could make the second job a salvemaker, or just have a lot of x potions available, Última sword, heal, última sword in 3 commands, and they all either die on first turn or second turn, but it has a habit of going single target for that second command if it kills someone the first turn, but that still takes out minimum 2 if not 3 or all of them in one brave boosted turn. All without them even moving once. And there's several substitutes like If you've beaten Adam using his sword and swapping surpassing power with spearhead itself if you don't have her spear or vice versa. It's how I grinded all the weapons from all of them AND experience grinded all the way to 99. Can also be used for quick first time completion of other portals, just watch out for londsdale as he reflects every bit of damage you do back at you so you might die after first round of it. I didn't have time to watch the whole video after typing this so if this method was mentioned, I apologize, just didn't see anyone talking about it when I skimmed the comments.

Something I've recently uncovered that doesn't *QUITE* break the game, but might be the key to doing so: Two Ringmaster's Spears, the Gold Hairpin, the Fairyglow Charm, and MP Saver. That is 110% MP reduction. Not that the extra 10% means anything, but it DOES mean that all MP costs for that character has been reduced to 0! For those playing along, the Hairpin is dropped in the Chapter 4 Adam fight, while the Charm is from a Night Quest in Wiswald in Chapter 5. ...or you can just use Beastmaster's Lv. 15 Nature's Blessing, but that is more situational, and not very useful for a Red Mage "Chainspell" build.

On second thought, combining it with Arcanist's Lv. 13 Magic Amp and Red Mage's Lv. 7 Magic Critical might be interesting. Anyone else think they can work with this?

Yo great video! i just found your channel and immediately subscribed! When I fight that last portal, I bring a Red Mage/Oracle. Weapons are the *Darksoul Sword* to get both *Surpassing Power* and *Last Resort* passives from Hellblade; and *Ringmaster's Spear* where the most important passive would be *Spearhead* and *MP Saver* . Passive abilities I used were *Magic Critical* (self-explanatory), *Last Resort* (stacks with the Darksoul Sword), *Magic Amp* to further boost damage at a cost of increasing MP costs, *Sub-job Specialty 1* to activate Oracle's *In One's Element* to increase attacks that hit elemental weakness es by 40% and decrease elemental magic costs by 40% (I use this more for the 40% MP cost reduction.) The final slot could be anything. I suggest either *MP Regen* / *MP Saver* (stacks with Ringmaster's Spear) but I chose regen instead cause it gave more MP back. This makes use of *Spearhead* to act first and Red Mage's Specialty 2: *Chainspell* to cast Triplaga twice. The Bastion goes down in two (four due to Chainspell) Triplaga casts. Then I focus the other two Triplagas on the Bravebearer which also usually goes down. I target the Bravebearer too for reliability because if I didn't, he easily reaches 3 BP because I technically do 8 actions and their counter gives them 1 BP per action. After that, he will do his Victory Double (you don't want this to hit you) combo.

Thanks to this guide, I defeated Bernard’s and Dominic’s groups multiple times (I’m only level 62). Unfortunately the weapons must be rare because I’ve only gotten the bard staff after about 10 fights.

You'll get them eventually! I heard that having and Gambler class skills or rare item obtaining abilities hinder the weapon drops. Because I was told the Giants JP Orbs ARE the rare drops. I suppose that would mean that the weapons are common drops(?) Let me know if that helps :)

For the last portal 2 freelancers with berserker secondary. passives: full force, epic-group cast, surpassing power, mp saver, and last resort. ringmaster spear and ripper for weapons. use death's door berserker skill to do massive damage to all enemies. at max physical attack you'll hit 99,999. you'll need lots of phoenix downs, but you can win with 2 attacks.

urgh the portal with pictomancer-berserker-arcanist was such a pain, i feel like its the hardest out all of them. I had to have accessories that will nullify insta death status to make it a bit more bearable

I use 4 Beastmaster mains with Freelancer sub, Muzzling Maelstrom then Mimic 3 times and alot of them go down in one round (Does not work on the bravebearer portal unless you take out Lonsdale first) works best if you have at least one of the Ringmaster Spears on each character so they always move first in the turn order plus the attack boosts from braving, and if you have the Spear of Judgement you get an extra brave point too. The enemy doesnt even have time to do anything in response when I use this, for some of the fights i can run just three like this and run a Phantom with two Givampalui to steal items I use Rare Talent, Counter Savvy, Surpassing Power, Dual Weild and Sub Job 2 You can also farm the Fizzy Flantasia monsters for Megalixirs that fully heal the whole party so you can make up for not having a healer on the field if by chance you do end up taking any hits

I did pretty much the same thing except I made sure Gloria was a Spirit Master so she could use reraise on herself so she’d never die. It works well for most of the fights but the one behind Halcyonia can be a nightmare if she gets her BP taken from her. EDIT: I should also point out, having a knife called the “Ripper” equipped is extremely useful for dealing with Sir Sloan because it does extra damage for humanoid does.

Great question! The buns will affect the characters neutral base stat so it will show its effects on every class. That being said, if a class has a generally lower stat (Mage with Def) it will be lower than most other jobs, but the stat as a while will be raise across every job I hope this helps

i did the order of bastion->blackmage->bravebarer the first time, but bravebarer destroyed me. so i switched it up, and pinned Brave down before bastion had the opportunity to set up a barrier. reflect and counter-savvy handle blackmage and bastion respectively. if you can manage, have the one with counter-savvy godspeed twice on brave and twice on bastion. depending on your stats, you should be able to take out those two with a turn one full brave, leaving the others to clean up

You can just destroy the bravebearer with phantom/hunter. Phantom to have garanteed secondary effects, the use the hunter stun on Sloan, he literally can’t do anything while you beat him down. Combine that with phantom ability that gives you an extra turn when you cause status effect and you don’t even waste a turn

I had two Bravebearers and two Beastmasters from the wiswald portal onwards, being able to Raven the BP back to zero and control the flow of battle is indispensable, sub classes I had were Swordsmaster, Bard, White Mage, and Thief respectively

I'm going to try ranger and painter as my subjob. Will the both of them do alot of damage? I also really like the Dragoon abality. They took that idea from Final Fantasy 3. That is my favorite one for my Nintendo DS.

for the last portal i used the ultima blade strat + godspeed strike strat + rearise that way you only need to hit the brave once or twice till his hp is less than 99k or less then hit the bastion once with your godspeed atacker then use the ultimablade atacker on the 3 of them and boom and since they have rearise well you get those sweet exp points for everyone

That's what I used as well. I was getting crazy with the Black Mage/Bravebearer/Bastion fight. I switch my entire party to Bravebearer/Freelancer with the sub job BP saver ability. Piece of cake!

It’s a pretty useful attack :) since it can be amplified with a maxed speed stat it can turn into quite a fearsome ability

pictomancer is also useless, kill vigintio when battle starts -3 bd with one char, then berserker and pictomancer cant do anything, same with black mage, she hits for 10-30 dmg with each spell when you have BM main job

I’m a bit late, but a strategy I found for the Bravebearer fight was using three freelancers with sub hellblade, all running the red mage skill that makes spells cost HP with the blessing shield and surpassing power, along with one Spearhead Singer, the singer uses Shut up and Dance on all 3 teammates, then have the damage dealers use ultima blade for 99,999 damage, use the blessing shield again to heal, then you can ultima blade again, it should one shot the black mage and two shot the others. Also you seem to have left out the shields that some of these bosses can drop

I am just using the best armor and weapon I have. What really matters most are the classes and skills a player uses. Personally I just use 2 diffferent freelancer set ups, one speed build with thief sub job using who dares win surpassing power crit amp dual wield and critical flow, this is because with flow i can usually go back to back with god speed and 3 mimics, the other freelancer i have using hellblade sub, with hp/mp convertor across the board and sword lore, with this they can use ultima sword and do 99,999 damage to all enemies. The other two i have as a whm and a brd for possible buffs and heals

That can be a tough fight! Get rid of the Alchemist. He's the biggest threat. Then take out the Berserker, then after take out the Artist/Pictomancer. Once the Alchemist is out, the 1-turn party wipes shouldn't be a threat anymore :) How are you enjoying the game so far?

The best jobs for Gloria are Shield and sword master. Sword master does alot of damage. The best weapon for Elvis is the bow and give him the ranger and red mage jobs. Adell Monk and Phantom. Finally Seth give him White mage and the red mage jobs.

If you want a real edge in these battles, bring a level 12 phantom/salvemaker, and hit them with status effects like paralysis, sleep, dread, contagion, and confusion. Even on hard mode you can beat these around level 40. 👍

Sub the thief job for Beserker and just use the Death's Door. Hits all enemies instead of one for each portal with all damage dealt. I can usually kill all in about 2 turns maybe 3. Takes 4 with the Bravebearer portal.

The way I did the portals was the following: Character 1: Pictomancer Main, Phantom Sub. Sub job specialty 2, counter knowledge, spearhead and spam the ability to make enemies weak to everything character 2: Bard main, Freelancer sub. Sub job specialty 2, counte rknowledge, born entertainer, sub job bp saver, fast hands character 3: Spiritcaller main, whitemage sub. Noble sacrifice, counter knowledge, dual wield, mp-regeneration character 4: Freelancer main, thief sub. Surpassing power, Dual wield, Critical plus, Raw power. Sorry for wrong ability names but I play the game in German :D I only listed the abilities I deemed mandatory for my setup. Rest is free to pick. Goal of this setup is for the pictomancer to make all of the enemies weak, bard to buff phys damage and crit, third one is just for healing and revives, forth one to use godspeed strike on each enemy atleast once. Managed to kill every portal with this setup. I actually went for the bravebearer one first. Focused the blackmage and bravebearer first. Oneshot my DPS on the bastion a couple of times till he was dead. After that i made the bravebearer legendary on character 1 and 4 and get the ability to cast stuff on all the enemies.

@@PoogieBoogie No Problem :D There is another fun thing you can do once you have the hellblade, Redmage and Bravebearer legendary cap unlocked. The last passive of Red Mage makes the Ultima Blade from Hellblade cost 9998 HP. Pair it with salve maker to Heal themselves for a second cast of Ultima Blade. Abilities would be TP-MP Converter, Across the Board and Surpassing Power. This requires Bravebearer, Redmage and Hellblade to be legendary. Without any equipment you tend to miss quite a bit so make sure you stack accurcy(hit or whatever it's called). No need for damage cuz it always hits for 99k. Thats what i used to farm the special weapons.(Note for the Portal 7 you need two Ultima Blade setups because you die to the reflect)

It can be! You can farm JP orbs from Wiki-wikis with the Bun farming strat. (Small JP Orbs i think) Bun Farming Strategy - [ kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5KWoGeBnpZ4i7s ] Paul Aten commented on another one of my JP farming videos - [ kzbin.info/www/bejne/onfInZaGrdiartU ] Paul Aten The method I've been using is going into the Jaws of Judgement and reopening the chest that has the Big Wiki-Wiki's, and using a Thief/Beastmaster skill combo to farm Small EXP orbs (500 exp) and Medium JP orbs (150 jp normally, but with JP Up and Up and Up it gives 255 per orb). It's slower, but if you just want to set your team on repeat it isn't that bad. Let me know if that helps :)

Beastmaster always worked for me :) Vanguard Neo Cross Slash with Bard Hurts So Bad with a healer is an ok strat. ALSO - Apparently she weak to spears and Ice so you can ice blaster her and Beastmaster her down to low health :) oh, and because she's a humanoid she's also vulnerable to poison! You’ll get her down :)

picto mancer thingy gives you a passive ability that will turn subclass abilities that use 1 BP....into 0 BP. so.... how about we turn Godspeed Strike into your default attack. Making it even more reliable consistent damage that can only become more with buffs :D Also. Across the board is very useful! Once you're able to take down the Bravebearer portal boss, you can unlock this and spread your single enemy attacks, like Godspeed Strike, to the entire enemy team. Be warned though, you have to activate it like a spell and press the Y Button I believe AND the damage will be reduced. I would recommend pairing that ability with Full Force from Dragoon and/or Bards Last ability which allows moves to not loose power when the damage is spread out (ala Across the Board). Let me know if this helps :)

With Beastmaster, armor kind of isn’t a factor anymore :) But if you can steal items from the over world bosses - you’ll be all set. I’d try Dark Robes from the horse in Savalon, Sensei Belt from the Cyclops from Holograd, and there a Genji he’ll but I forgot which creature has it. You can farm them without fighting them! Here's a setup that has been working well for me. (Currently farming the Beast/Gamb/Thief/Bard Gate.) Seth/Adelle: Freelancer + Thief. Rare Talent, Surpassing Power, Critical Amp, Raw Power, Critical Flow. Gloria: Shieldmaster + White Mage. Rare Talent, No Guts No Glory, Dual Shields, BP Limit Up, Unshakeable Will. Elvis: Shieldmaster + Bard. Rare Talent, No Guts No Glory, Dual Shields, BP Limit Up, Unshakeable Will. This requires a maxed Freelancer and as many other jobs mastered for stat gains. Start battle, have everyone default. Once Seth's turn comes around go all in with Godspeed Strike. Keep Defaulting with Gloria/Elvis. When Adelle comes up after Seth, go all in with Mimic. Default with G/E. When it's Seth again, switch to Mimic. Keep the Godspeed Spree going without expending tons of MP. Crit Flow usually has Seth good to go again after the first Godspeed barrage. No real need for Bard's Hurt So Bad ability, but is there for more damage if wanted. Shieldmasters soak damage. White Mage just in case. Rinse and repeat!

@@PoogieBoogie The Mimic ability is insanely OP. It definitely helps with the Godspeed Strike MP drain. The end game was pretty good. With access to everything, I just had fun filling out the last of my lore pages (Monster data, Card binder, etc.) -- Was able to get through all the portals pretty easy with my setup, though that last one with fighting the Bravebearer again nearly had me! If you have yet to try, head back out to Rimedhal and head up to the graveyard. Interact with the big gravestone at the top left and take on the secret boss! He's a doozy.

Beastmaster works best If you have caught enough monsters to make the class broken :) If it’s not quite there yet, Vanguard/Thief attackers with strong weapons would be able to deal a strong amount of damage! Let me know if this helps :)

I did it level 65, if you grind a little on the ice cavern (forgot the name but this man has a vid for that too ^^) to build your jobs, you will easily gain some level

I don't grind. I did enough of that as a kid. If I have to grind to do something; I just don't do that thing. However, I've gotten two of them down while still under 50. I'm still having trouble with some of the fights that aren't mostly physical damage, as my build was relying heavily on a two shield tank, but I think I can probably do them with some tweaks to my comp.

You definitely should be fast enough (hmmmm). Maybe have a beast master/thief, physical attacker Beastmaster/freelancer, mimic user/physical Shield master/white mage, healer Shieldmaster/bard, buffer This should allow you more room with the beefy healer and bard. Let me know if that helps :)
