Defeat Del Lago on Professional NO Damage / Chapter 3 Boss Fight - Resident Evil 4 Remake

Can someone explain to me how a no damage, max difficulty video with commentary explaining how to do it has 60% likes or any dislikes? I usually hold 90%-100% and I rewatched this video and I don't see any issue.

This battle is quite tricky and a bit disgusting, because Del Lago is a very random boss, especially because not only can you take damage from him, but from the environment as well, it has happened to me on quite a few occasions where he dives and does that attack that is launched towards the boat and there is an obstacle, and because the boat continues to advance although it has done little damage to me, it is strange because it should not happen, from there (this only once) when in its third cycle it submerges and this I think it always happens, that he comes out very close to you and you have to press a button to escape. I remember that there was an obstacle just ahead and I died because it left me in critical, as I said, too random and essential, so it's good that you can kill him in his first cycle if you have enough skill since you don't have to miss any harpoon.

Thanks for the video. I play on the PC and this fight gives me extreme difficulties on professional (trying not to take any damage). What always gets me is the tree at 3:36. You dodge to the right and somehow succeed, which makes no sense to me. When I dodge to the right, Del Lago pulls me into the tree, since it swims left. When I dodge left, I just hit the tree directly. I really don't get it. Also I hit Del Lago a lot more often than you and the exact same happens, could it be, that this fight is not health based at all?

Ah right I also wanted to say that your video does show me something I haven't tried myself yet. You seem to hold right a lot more than me, even if there is no imminent threat. Maybe that's just the way to go...

I just tried it again, I was starting to feel like the path Del Lago swims is always the same, but that's because what I did was always the same. It seems that how you move the boat can change the whole path as well as when you hit the big lake monster with your harpoons. By changing my actions up a bit I made it so that I could dodge that tree I talked about. I still didn't manage it and got frustrated once again. My gf noticed that and tried it herself. In about 3 attempts she did it AND had fun somehow. On one of her attempts I saw that the obstacles actually reset their position if Del Lago moves them. Once a tree just teleported right in front of the boat because of that... I think this fight is very rugged and could use some more polishing...

@@Maffia7 I hold right when there is no direction to go so there is no thought process in holding left or right. When I need to go left I simply go left and then back to holding right. Just taking one thing to do out of the fight. As far as hitting that tree; it's so hit or miss, i think maybe I dodge it, because I'm always holding right but I've also clipped it a couple times in other runs.

@@Maffia7 Just a note; he can be killed before you even get to that tree if you land basically all the possible attacks on him.

Every single time i'm doing pretty good until he suddenly 180°'s with literally no fucking tell like he animation cancels to fucking get a hit

@@jelleluyten5017 You can bring this beast down by start of 2ND faze if you don't miss any crit opportunities and stay landing 65%+ of spamming throw. The longer the fight drags on, the more aggressive and random he becomes so make sure to go hard at the start and don't stop until one of you dies.

I actually f'd up twice on this dude on my No Save Professional Run I did today. It's not easy to do no damage on professional but this is the best strategy to kill him. When I did this video I beat him 6 times in a row and 5 of the times only took 5% damage from brushing into 1 small thing in water. 6 time I got the no damage. Today I lost twice and almost died on the win I did get. It definitely is a little harder than I let on but this strategy is best one to use, without question.

You need to keep your analog pressed to the right or left in general and you automatically dodge when he jumps.

@@harshrana5696 ah, not sure how you move boat on PC but whatever button you use to control boat, use that and keep boat moving to right or left. Even if boat doesn't visually look like it's moving, your pre-evading that attack

@@ras79r Can't help you be less wrong. Sometimes they make fights harder but I've done hardest challenge run out of anyone at launch that only couple people completed to date. I don't need to lie in tags on my videos. If it says professional it was done on professional.
