Beautiful intro with music telling the way to God's Heaven. Love it love you brother, from an old hard-core surfing sinner who God lifted out of the pit, who hopes all come to know the true life changing love God has for them. And you are laying down on video tree expertise that is a pleasure to watch. You're the Kelly Slater of trees. Thanks for your channel it's been a blessing to me. 🙏✝️

Just removed twin to the Ohio state record holder Cottonwood a month ago. The falling tops shook the ground at a nearby asphalt plant and the employees all came down to see what was causing that. Parallel lives. (Well sort of)… Had to use a payloader to move the trunk sections. I see that you still are doing the dead tree climbs yourself. I’m the same way. Great video August. Stay safe 👋

August these types of videos w/ the music & extra footage ( i.e. drone shots) are fantastic. The music you pick sounds like a band or group of songs performed by brilliant musical artists who may not be widely known, but should be. The footage of you guys standing on the side of a tree are iconic.

Oh, I HATE dead cottonwoods too. Big ol patches of bark flaking off as soon as you stick your spikes into it. Crashing you into the truck and smashing your nads just like you weren't looking forward to that day. Then try to stick the spikes into the wood and it's like a brick that you just can't get a grip in. I had the same situation about 8 years ago. Big dead limb hanging over teh fence. I hit it square. Cost me half the job to fix. I defeated that Goliath that day but it came at that cost. Some days you get the bear. Some days the bear gets you.

Great video and soundtrack. I have recently discovered Jimmy Clifton and enjoying his music. I'm a newer tree guy that really appreciates what you do and how you talk through the thought process of working a tree. I do tree work part time and haven't had a mentor. I'm a fairly smart man with some common sense and between you and Buckin I have learned so much. Thank you for making these videos.

When you said "Gotta go higher.." 😅 I'm watching you and, on one hand, saying "don't go any farther, it's already sketchy" but on the other I know exactly every thought you've had about that tree because I would have thought the same ones. "It's gotta get done, nobody else is going to do it, and I'm already up here." Also, not because I'm arrogant, but 9/10 guys with me would be neither willing nor capable of doing it. One of the 10 may be cocky or dumb enough to volunteer, but I haven't worked with anyone who wanted to learn to climb, and actually got their ass up a tree, let alone finish one. I can't wait to get back into tree work, thanks for your videos.

August. I struggle to describe it, You have a sublime style where you have bypassed any awkward need for introduction. You allow people to seamlessly integrate from their own personally relative perspective, into this new reality where your ears say "ooh, nice", and your eyes are being inundated with images that make you second guess, "what am I really seeing here?", " Is that thing as dead as it looks?", And the ultimate rumination of morality and masculinity: "Would I hike my trembling ass up that nasty...and start ripping chunks out of it?" Man, I think this vid was for the climbers and the customers. You really allow a window into our perspectives as climbers, and you narrate it as much as it needs, and you edit lovely slow motion clips to music, which is, I guess, representative of your artistic spirit--you are not just some tree butcher. You aren't some two dimensional macho man who claims to fear nothing. You are demonstrating to any who will watch and listen, that being a man means many things, many roles, many actions to reinforce the words. This is where inspiration is born, and lives and matures. Many roles, many skills, many challenges, many lessons. There is much upon much to be thankful for. What a rant, wow, sorry. Your videos rock, man. May the light of the Creator shine on all of our hearts and souls, Amen.
