Skywind and Skyblivion are fan made recreations of both games in the Skyrim engine. Nothing is dumbed down, they've recreated all the old systems as faithfully as they can and they've both made amazing progress. Check their gameplay demos and Dev diaries out.

The homogenization of art design (all art and expression in general) stemming from appeals to the lowest common denominator as the market has grown has been staggering. There's a reason why Cyrodiil was made into this completely generic fantasy landscape instead of the jungle-environment-roman-empire-built-in-alien-elven-ruins it was supposed to have been.

As a child I played oblivion a little bit, and then from the first day after premiere I've been playing skyrim. I have now over 4000 hours in Skyrim. I started playing Morrowind free months ago and I must say some of the mechanics are just so cool, I start to think that this is the best TES. a hand-to-hand, unarmored build would be good content i think. I did one recently and it’s hilarious. Starting at 35-40 hand to hand it’ll take 10 minutes to kill anything, but since you don’t need to buy literally anything you can just vendor any armor and weapons you come across and buy hand to hand training. Once you hit ~50 you’ll start stunlocking everything making you essentially invincible in a 1v1 fight. Some funny interactions based on how hand-to-hand does fatigue damage and only damages health if theres no fatigue, like rats having 25 hp but 300 fatigue so they are actually harder to kill than most NPCs. If you want some QOL you can turn on the strength-based damage in MGEXE which makes hand to hand damage increase with strength rather than the original always doing flat damage and only scaling with the skill level. I also use uncapped skills because 100 hand-to-hand is nothing. Invest in alchemy/resto/alteration for quality of life. Play as a khajit named PUNCHCAT for bonus points. Redguard are also good for adrenaline rush.

I'd rather walk to the vivec mage guild and kill Ordinators using arrows, loot, drop, pay fine, teleport to creeper, sell, teleport back and repeat. They respawn on every cell reload the Ordinators if you want to bunch up armor piles you can do that too.

Also there is a fair bit of a set of orcish armor in a create at the top floor of the house that the scamp is in but you may or may not (depending on your sneak skill) kill the orc that stands next to the crate but it's a bit of a catch 22 as that is the orc that you need to rebuild Boethia's shrine so make of that what you will but if you're doing these kinds of one use runs per se then you should be totally cool to kill him unless your run depends on you getting Goldbrand or something. Anyways just wanted to let you know, you probably already know but I just thought I'd mention it :)

I know this is months after you posted this comment, but there's some interesting information around Ghorak Manor in Caldera All of the items in the house do not have ownership flags. You can steal everything in front of them and they'll curse you out, but won't react beyond that. You don't get a bounty, it's just free. If you're using medium armour, you can get a nearly full set of orcish armour with practically 0 effort, or thousands of gold selling it to Creeper over a couple days. Don't need to kill anyone, just take literally everything and laugh at their impotent rage as you sell all their earthly possessions to a scamp

I just beat Morrowind with the rebirth mod. Dagoth Ur’s health dropped a tiny bit with each hit using an Axe with a base damage up to 45 and frost damage of 25-50. I had also boosted my strength to 250. They must have “rebalanced” things a lot or else I have terrible strategy.

@@midotron rebirth is suppose to change many aspects of the game, like adding many buildings and improve graphics. Take a look at the last version, graphics is so good compared to the original one. Better landscapes, grass, water... the only problem is that my graphics still remain the same, nothing has changed. Don't get it, I did every step of installation correctly, and all the esp files are selected in the data file section
