Just imagine being one of the finest swordsman, wizard and thief in all of Morrlowind just to have some guy standing in a town dancing around your blade, shrugging off your magical blastss and side stepping every fancy footwork you have spent years honing and perfecting. He laughs and says, come on! You going to fight me yet coward? Ha ha ha ha ha Not only a very powerful NPC, but also has a master skill in trolling!

The ending reminds me of the time I broke alchemy, went insane with power and crafted among other things these absurd fortify/restore fatigue potions, which lasted me ~a month of on-and-off play-time across multiple saves, but when they finally wore off my dude fell unconscious for 6 in-game days.

New playthrough idea: Fortify health to such an absurd amount nothing could ever kill you, but to where you die if the effect wears off. Then proceed to constantly create fortify health potions to survive until you beat the game.

yea he's a play on Fargoth too, players and I mean players hated Fargoth and found creative ways to bully that NPC... So they made Gaenor...IF you played the game as this content was releasing, you would be atleast level 40 before you even got to touch Tribunal content and the Gaenor fight would be an annoyance, but not difficult. I found the clockwork dungeon to be really really challenging though but not the Gaenor fight.. That felt like comic relief and like a great reference to Fargoth like "oh you chose the right Bosmer, you got the one!!" Like Gaenor is a f around and find out Bosmer. It's also a great way to get a full ebony armor set.

@@an_ordinary_goose He fortified his health and went below what his actual health is... so when the effect ran out he died cause it doesn't leave you at 1 health by default. The Morrowind Code Patch does address this, but a vanilla way to "fix" it is to wear a piece of clothing with Fortify Health, armor works as well but since that can break from wear... when it does, the effect ends and can kill you if the effect is intense enough and your health is low at that time. Had he healed/saved he prob could have caught it in time, but Micky was doing a meme. xD

@@Kaijudomage that's... actually pretty funny that it does that. I think a lot of games now make it so it locks you to the minimum of your health when effects like that are removed, so it's surprising they didn't think someone would end up like this fighting an enemy like THAT.

What I did to beat him that might've worked here is train my Marksman up to 100, then get a dwarven crossbow and a bunch of the area of effect bolts from the archery store in Vivec. Then I'd just jump around with high agility sniping at him.

@@BiggRich95 it's certainly viable if you enjoy ranged or stealthy gameplay. It's really good if you can get somewhere that enemies cant reach you. I suggest getting a crossbow (one is available in Balmoral at the razor hole)

27:13 Fun fact: In Morrowind, when Fortify Health wears off, it takes the added health back, even if that would prove fatal.* In Oblivion, the Fortify Health effect was changed so that you would always be left with at least 1 HP. The change also carried over into Skyrim. *Therefore, it's a good idea to have a low-level constant effect Fortify Health enchantment on a piece of clothing, as that will prevent the effect from inflicting mortal damage onto you. Healing to full before it wears off may or may not also work; I haven't tested it. It might still be fatal if the Fortify Health effect doubles (or greater) your health, and you take more damage than your natural max health, even if you heal before it wears off. Like I said, I haven't tested it, but I have reason to believe it may work like that from what my sources are saying. The previously-stated enchantment should prevent death even in that situation, though. ...Y'know, I think removing the enchanted piece of clothing would probably ALSO do mortal damage when removing it. You may need another, different piece of Fortify Health enchanted clothing to prevent that that you only put on when taking off the first enchanted item. If you wore the second one all the time, it would ALSO probably deal mortal damage. Or maybe, no matter what, if you take more than your max health worth of damage while under the effects of Fortify Health, it will always deal mortal damage, even if the sources are different. That could be how it works. ...or just install the Morrowind Code Patch, which changes the effect from fortify health to fortify max health, circumventing the damage effect entirely. I haven't tested anything; I'm just interpreting what I'm being told.

Eh, not really. He's not forced to do what he's doing at all. He's in Morrowind's endgame with a low level character fighting one of the toughest NPCs in the game, that's the only reason why he has to break the game. Indeed I thought every Morrowind fan eventually realizes the only BS thing about the game is how it doesn't properly explain how the RPG mechanics work. Once you figure that out, the game makes total sense.

@@jigglypuff3311 Unarmed in Morrowind is pathetic for dealing damage however! It may as well take 30 minutes or more to kill Gaenor with only your fists. But you can switch between a weapon in your inventory and hand-to-hand with hotkeys fortunately. It's funny how people underestimate evasion, hit chance and the influence of fatigue on combat in Morrowind. Everyone just wants to bash. Regardless, it's easy to level up hand-to-hand and use it in tough fights.

My gaenor-killing strat is to abuse alchemy to boost INT, then use ghoul hearts and golden sedge flowers (you can only find in Mournhold) to make potions of Fortify Attack (which increase your chance to hit with weapons) Then you take an un-enchanted weapon and whack him until he dies. His luck does nothing against a 100%+ chance to hit, and also can't reflect the magic that your weapon doesn't have. With long-lasting crazy strong healing potions you can make while you're the biggest brain in the universe, he can't kill you while you're whittling him down with your guaranteed damage.
