I hear you used to be able to hand of greed minions - they had to get rid of that. The darklings are probably the same thing - too easy to farm, so the benefits can't leave the battle. 1:05:30 It's pretty simple. You start with an echo. The first card adds an echo... and uses an echo to activate again. That's 1+(1+1)=3 echoes total, and one card duped so far.

What throws me off about the Echo Form is not that you end up with three echoes total, but that the two additional Echoes are immediately available that turn. I would expect them not to function until next turn. After all, when you play your first Echo form, you don't get to double your next card until the turn after.
