a set today is not the instruments, because with todays technology we are all on the same playing field. Nice mix. But no deep house was played. It's funny how a genre like Deep House which has been around since the beginnings of the house movement has somehow gone from meaning introspective, jazzy, dubby, eclectic, soulful cuts that were less typically seen in the upfront house tracks to now in 2023 meaning bass house. Keep deep house, deep. Even Wikipedia thinks so By around Aug 2014, however, the perception of the genre was resulting in a sense that some house music was being labeled deep inappropriately,[13] and the term has since been used to encapsulate various types of bassline-driven house music, later named Brazilian bass or slap house, as the genre evolves from its historical origins.

I disagree! Breach - Jack is probably one of the most iconic deep house tracks that changed the game! Also Gorgon City brought deep house to the main charts which was a great moment for the genre! ❤

I and other Chicago folks agree. Deep House as a moniker was a 90's thing. Soulful and open. Kerri Chandler, Ron Trent and Larry Heard. Labels like Prescription, Cajual, Balance and Guidance Then Europe flipped the script in the mid 2000's and changed the definition.
