Great to see the ADF working with our close neighbours in the region conducting such exercises, whilst in no means the same scale as the exercises with the US and other comparitive Allies, we have to continue working with the regional Forces, and bolster up the teamwork in our own backyard, Indonesia is not a tiny nation!!! Thanks for the Service of all those participating, and for bringing us the smaller yet just as important exercises our Nations defenders conduct, greatly enjoy the watch!!! The landing would be very different if they were under fire from prepared defence position. The casualties were about 10000 on the first day of the Normandy Beach landings in WW2.

Agreed and so obviously the case, but regardless of that fact, which is quite a difficult feat to obtain unless you're actually at war...two different spheres and era's of warfare, different tactics and weapons, I'm quite sure there'd be some "softening up" of any defensive positions well in advance of any attempted landing/s.

If dismounted Indonesian infantry are safe near moving tanks then Indonesian military is far more competent than Russian military. It's a low benchmark but it's still a benchmark.

The ADF does have a parachute capability, embedded in the Defence Special Operations Training and Education Centre. 3rar relinquished the parachute role with the commando regiment taking over the large scale parachute capability.
