This is incredible in no-Gi Jiu Jitsu. A lot of non-wrestlers don't expect it at all.

my coach showed us this, but he told us to pass the elbow and try to cut down for a shot when you throw him.

I understand the concept of the slide-by. I am a high school wrestler and my coach goes over the same drill with us. but what I don't like about the way you demonstrated this is the way you kept your hand glued to his neck after you executed the slide-by that would make it very easy for him to arm throw you and kip over.
