I like some of these techniques very much. Others... not as much. but in any case, please remember that if you wish to learn self-defense, a one-time lesson or even a few lessons will not be adequate. You must practice self-defense on a regular basis. Remember also for the purpose of this demonstration, Yagi Sensei is being compliant and allowing the young woman to execute the techniques without resistance. In order for these techniques to be useful to her, she will need to practice them with a resisting partner who will force her to modify her application or move onto another technique if it does not work as expected.

She has some really good striking power and would definitely be a good karateka, the only thing i would like to add is that the normal t-shirt most people wear has a lot more stretch than a gi, so when you attempt the lapel takedown with a t-shirt, you have to change the grabbing position of the striking hand and twist the material into a knot to take up slack and prevent the shirt from stretching, that said if you are going to do that you have to drop your whole body and a wary opponent may just attempt to kick or knee you in the head if you try it.
