Thanks, I agree it really need stargate. I may buy it , as I don’t have a midway cabinet yet, but I’ll wait for a price drop . I love MK, but really tired of MK artwork. Would super love a four player gauntlet cabinet.

There probably won't be a price drop. They usually only make each model for a short time so get one while you can.

My complaint about this cab is the same as the rampage one , certain games need the original control layout, defender definitely needs the original layout so I’ll pass on this one and wait for the defender partycade version which actually has the correct layout , just my .02 cents

If this cabinet would have had Robotron, Sinistar and Defender 2 instead of the Mortal Kombat trilogy it would have been perfect. Why they decided to put 90's fighting games on an 80's themed cabinet just doesn't make any sense to me. I'll still buy it though :)

did you notice anything strange about paperboy on this? Mine has some small lines at the bottom and side, like = on the side and = on the bottom, but the bottom = is facing upwards

I guess not ..I'm in the process of modding the control panel so I can't fully tell you if that was possible.

Yes they are almost flush ...I haven't seen the MK version with detail in order to compare thanks

Did you mod the control panel? It seems flush with the cabinet instead of recessed between the side panels, which I hated on these legacy cabs.

What about the easy mode for defender where you use the joystick for reverse ? Why are there 2 different joysticks ?

@@petermacnab1871 I haven't tried yet easy mode , the joysticks are identical I just changed the bat top for a ball one because its more comfortable and closer to the original arcade when playing.

I picked one up just out of nostalgia. I played this when I was 11 years old in 1980. Definitely the layout could be better. The marquee seems washed out and not crisp. Same with my mrs Pac-Man . Arcade 1 up can do better for 450 bucks. Old school gamer and I guess I prefer originals. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻

@@zombee38 is there a way to type in you initials? I just got this for my dad and I tested it, didn’t hit any high scores or anything. I’m assuming it only allows this once you get a score high enough to make the list? Thanks

@@OleClyde that's correct you have to make it into the the Hall of fame inorder to put your initials...my current High score on Defender is 65,000 ...there is also an option to reset them if you desire to do so.

Mine arrives this coming Tuesday November 2nd. I'm seriously thinking about just converting this over to a raspberry pi and doing a Williams machine with defender, Stargate, Robotron 2084, Bubbles, Joust, Joust 2, that 3D defender that I can't remember the name of and even though the aspect won't be correct, Sinistar! I hunger!

Yeah, I have the original mortal kombat cab, so this will add 9 new games for me, and the cabinet looks very nice. Too bad this version of gauntlet is not the correct arcade revision, though.

@@petermacnab1871 this is revision 14, which gives you less food, and the levels come in a set order. Revision 5 has all random levels after 7. Gauntlet 4 for the sega genesis on arcade mode is the closest version to the arcade. Even then, the thief still comes out on the treasure rooms. I don't know WHY we keep getting that revision 14.

nice. i'm getting the defender partycade, which has the best controls. much more authentic to the original. --- also, it has a much better game selection, with sinistar, klax, gorf, and more exclusives. that will be the best way to play it. later -1

@@zombee38 Quick review - Defender partycade - Great controls - very natural for all games - Scanline options on - pixel smoothing off - minimal options, but good for most people - Good volume - Excellent headphone jack support, and USB controls, only tested XBOX One analog - Game selection is excellent, shooters, puzzle, 2 player ones - Overall 4.5 / 5 Great value and variety for price, might be the best partycade released so far. Galaga Partycade - Plenty of Shooters, but a bit of variety in games. - again, excellent controls, some options for all games - can only switch out - no pausing though - no scanlines - some variety - tank game - Grobda - Physics survival - motos, king balloon - space invaders modified - the rest are all vertical shooters - slow - galaxian, bosconian midspeed - galaga, galaga 88, xevious, dragon spirit fast - gaplus - overall well done 4/5 for shooter fans, the best selection yet later -1
