Have also recently fitted that exact tailgate in the last couple of weeks. Agree the instructions provided were slightly confusing (to be honest I was suprised it even came with some being Britpart). I found putting a nylon washer either side of the catch on the antiluce pin helped with vibration and it moving whilst driving. Also found it did not fit with the earlier style rear fog light - the bolt would not go in so I had to take the light out and move it 15mm higher up

Do you have a previous video that explains the process of leaving galvanised parts to "weather" for 4-6 months before acid-etch priming before the final paint job is applied, please? I've heard of this, but having no experience, would appreciate a full tutorial. My 1987 historical Gulf War I has just received a new galvanised front bumper, and it needs painting satin black. Thank you. Love your informative, and inspiring, videos 👍

Don't waste your time. Its a general rule that weather galv, i.e. galv has been outside for anything over a year (I would go as far as to say years) should be OK to paint. For any galv remotely new just use T-Wash / mordant solution. I believe its a phosphoric acid solution that etches the zinc. Just my experience, as I have made the mistake of painting onto galv gates that had not weathered sufficiently an the adhesion was poor (peeling after a few years). Likewise, thanks for the informative videos LR Live

@drsocrates3 thanks. The company I worked for (in my first professional job) used to do the advertising for the UK's premier supplier of galvanised Land Rover parts. From what they'd told me, I never envisaged a problem. Certainly, giving many months of "weathering" never made sense 🤷‍♂️. It'll be interesting to read others have to say, but your advice makes sense. Thank you for getting back with a detailed reply. ATB, Rick
