Loved these fuel sender videos which really did shine a light in a very dark corner for me! Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike and thanks for all the great content. Learned a fortune from you. Can this type of older unit fit later model (97 Defender 300 tdi). Ive changed my fule lines to rubber type, only fitting the rubber line to the little plastic bung on the newer senders is a little precarious. Any other sugestions welcome. Thank You. M. Jacobs

It will fit, but I do not know if the sender will match the gauge

Hi me old mucker Both the sender and gauge are genuine Smiths units, as I said before I had to adapt the base from multi nuts to the traditional twist plate by carefully grinding down the sender base plate. Still not sure why my light comes on so early. ‘Tis really annoying 🤬 Regards Johnny

I am having some issues with TDI300 sender, it could be a wiring issue - for AMR1495 there is two wires - I assume one is the low fuel light and the other is the gauge - not longer the has the earth - is this correct as I would explain a few issues @ my gauge

Yes one is a ground the other to the gauge and the other side of the gauge should be a green wire that is live when the ignition is on It has to be a ground on the 300Tdi sender as it is a plastic unit

Ive got a '94 300tdi - the warming light has never come on! I didn't quite get what you were meaning when you said "there was just a moulded pug with three wires coming out". Does that mean the wanting light doesn't work with them, or what. Oh, btw, a love how I learn something new each video. Keep it up.

The original 300 Tdi has not got a warning light or the wiring - I thought i said it was a moulded plug with 2 wires - never mind Thanks for you kind words! Mike

Hey Mike, I have a sender with 3 connectors in a row. There are no indication of what they are for and britpart has no idea. It's a 91 plate petrol defender ninty. Any idea how I can figure out the connectors? Cheers!
