I have them on all low and I can’t see shit! I just light up the objectives and hope to get a kill. I can spot tanks and vehicles pretty easily.. but I rarely get a clear sight of a group of enemy infantry. This dude had superhuman sight lol

It's all about the monitor. You don't want low graphic settings like some people say because that makes it harder to spot movement when you're higher up in the air because your TV isn't rendering that kind of detail.

Defended Wake Breakthrough as the only pilot left after our landing strip was taken. Got 102 kills that round, mostly focusing tanks. My team supported me with anything they had while I never let a tank past the strip and simultaniously dropping flares where needed. It was glorious. We did not lose another point. I was not shot down. We won.

@@DanielMurin7 as a pilot with 200h in BFV planes, and a streak of 74-0 in a corsair, i can tell you that it surely isnt impossible. when you get the basics, and start focusing on surviving, you will get the time to learn how to fly. if you get in a plane and start doing acrobatics and try to bring your plane to its limits, you will surely fail. first of all, assign your pitch up to Spacebar and i would also recomment repair on Shift, and exit plane on something you cannot press hahaha! there are TOO MANY embarassing times where i accidentally jumped out of my plane! after that, try to stay alive, do strafes but pull up fast, dont go close to the ground, and dont do vertical loops while close to the ground. try to play higher. it will be more, difficult to get kills but it will give you a lot of valuable time to familiarize yourself with the plane and the physics. for dogfighting, because i dont like explaining things for the next 2 hours writing here, search the internet, not for BFV tricks, but for actual, real dogfighting maneuvers. things like High Yo Yo, Barrel Roll Attack, Flat and Rolling Scissors, etc. You could also understand those things in practice, or by watching youtubers like @Silk, but it would be better and faster if you did research first. When you get the feeling of how your plane works and you somehow by a miracle manage to lvl ur planes to lvl 6 (the last planes are the best so far, Mosquito with the cannon comes second), things will naturally come to you. it will be tough at first, but it is really nice to fly! dogfighting is interesting and fun, (though un-rewarding, THNX DICE for jumpers and low scorepoints) and air to ground is REALLY fun!

Yeah, I had a really good win 2 days ago. They took A and B pretty fast and somehow they took C with light speed, I died and when I respawn they had it. Then they moved along pretty fast but was stuck on the last points for atleast 300 tickets and somehow we managed to hold them off with 0 planes, and I had enough points to call in back to back 3 artillery strikes at the end which helped a bit aswell.

I'm not the best pilot, so when I get an enemy plane on me, I try getting my plane into the water and then getting the nose almost vertical so I don't blow up and my plane slows down enough to the point where the other plane passes right over me, all while my plane while my plane is trying to leave the water. By the time the enemy plane passes over me, my plane gets out of the water and is back in the air. It's real hard to explain and pull off, and I have a success rate of maybe 50%, but I prefer that over trying to out maneuver the enemy, since I'm not the best pilot. Breaktrough on Wake Island feels much more as a historical military simulation than Conquest Mode. My personal experience since last week is randomly 50/50 US-Japanese victories on Wake Island at 10-15 matches. The map is definitly a challenge for the defender but its practical. In one of my Last breaktrough games on japanese side we break tue US-Tank rush before the hangar because there is very tight space for Tank to operate. And two other games on US Side we fail to capture the last sector by attrition

Weighing the odds for risks and rewards before you decide to do something. Like deciding when to pull up during your strafe. The closer you are to the guy with the fleiger, the easier it is for him to hit you. And you gotta decide if you being dead for a couple minutes waiting for the next plane is worth the 1 extra kill you might get from pulling up late.

Oh definitely. For most of my strafes I kinda look at the risk of doing something versus the reward. Then it's up to the pilot and how risky they fly. For someone like me I fly pretty risky, but someone like BigBossFoX (400 kd), he'll almost never strafe if there's risk.

How to defend wake Island in my opinion, is how I have found to be the best way to defending. 1. The at cannons are extremely valuable get a squad of three to take all three of them and put them on the edge of the airfield, obliterate all tanks because if you let them live the enemy team will have 4-5 lvts, 2-3 shermans. 2. The enemy need to be constantly spotted, decoy snipers, flare guns and planes with flares are very important. 3. Make sure that the tanks are on japan's side are protected as they are highly valuable assets especially if the enemy is down to 2 shermans after the hanger is lost. I find even one AT cannon is great to protect the hanger point from flanker and tanks as extremely valuable don't forget you have tow hooks on the cars

Its been awhile but rewatching this, my advice as a pilot. If you cant full punish tunnel vision, harrass them enough to break that. If more infantry is focusing on you as a pilot the less infantry are focusing on the objective. Also for new pilots, the best advice i got to dogfighting, get the mindset you are fighting to manipulate velocity A wounded player looking to heal is just as good as a dead one.

Got over 120 twice, one was a 125 streak until their pilots got annoyed and rammed me. Pretty annoying you cant spawn planes after the second sector though, Americans have 3-4 planes and about 800 tanks all the way through the round.

Im my honest opinion, Air support for japan is key on this map. For once your impact as a pilot is crucial for the allies. Use the tank killer load out, the 500 pound bombs and help your team by eliminating the tanks and air support. It’s a great challenge as a pilot I’ve only fully survived once. Everyone got on a AA while being chased by two pilots lmao

Maybe I'm lucky, but I usually have quite close games on Wake in breakthrough mode. Good tankers are usually a huge advantage for attackers but if there aren't any, attack dies on 3rd or last sectors.

With the 109 you need the load out where you have a gun on each wing (From memory it is a secondary weapon) - the rate of fire is slow but has a lot of damage - if you line up behind the Spitfire or any other plane you will shred their wings fairly quickly.

I actually do not find it that hard to win, so far I have won about 9 times and losg about 9 times The key to win on defence is to destroy the US army's tanks on the second sector, me and my friend always goes tank hunting and usually aim for the LVTs first since they can't respawn.

In BF3 conquest assault the advantage of taking C flag was that the planes and the havoc simply stopped spawning. The same could've been done here. Just stop them from spawning, but also dont spawn american planes from there. It's just dumb.

I gotta go back to your vid with your settings - even after 5.2.2 the enemy are glowing white. I notice when you get closer to the ground that effect disappears. The enemy pilots fucked up by attacking you - pretty sure you would have let them do their own farming if they left you alone - it 'might' have improved their teams chance of winning. I play west coast USA and over here I find the last point the easiest for us to defend and generally win as defenders regardless of armour or air support. The dogfighting is so much more aggressive on USA servers than what I've seen from you or Niccaman, so I have to roll the 2 20mm and increased engines on the bomber loadout instead of the 4 20mm HE. I don't see any pilots over here getting above the 50 kill mark really for it.

I am a horrible pilot, granted I am on console, but I am trying to get better so I can fill whatever role my team needs. I’m already a good tanker, support, medic, and sniper, but I’d love to be better as a pilot. From this video alone, I picked up so much than the week of practice. Played the 'Crash Course Intro' where I felt like a clumsy dumbass just like in the Crash Course Intro in my brief look in BF1, rejoiced when BF5 turned out to have a actual Practice Area (Why the hell didn't BF1 have this!!?) & hopped into it. I wish this Practice Area had Helis... they're my 2nd most interested in Vehicle behind Tanks. Anyway, hop into Plane & holy shit how the hell do I fucking fly this goddamn thing!!? O_0 With default controls, I can't wrap my head around Mousing Up to Pitch Down & vice versa for the other one... it feels too counter-intuitive to me... so I find where I can Rebind these two controls, but I can't tell if my inability to automatically succeed at mousing up or down PERFECTLY straight is translating into the Rebinding Input or not causing inaccuracy in the Plane's aim in Pitching up on Mouse up or vice versa. Is there any help for this? How the hell do I actually figure out how to Airplane... turning how I want, how the hell to not keep accidentally flying out of bounds, how the hell to tell how to turn into another direction & actually AIM this to take me where i'm actually wanting to go (Like the damn stupid hard to hit Resupply Point...) instead of getting easily misaimed, if not dazed & confused... & even how to quit screwing up my own efforts to control my Altitude during flying up into the Sky or diving down & crashing my stupid ass embarrassingly...? :( (& maybe more things i'm not quite remembering atm...) Is there any 'Airplane Flying 101 for Dummies' available anywhere...? :( & also, seriously, dammit Practice Area, I wanna try out Helis dammit!!! >:( Edit: Oh, also, when trying to fly the Plane level, why does it keep being an asshole & keep trying to roll to one side or the other when I never told it to do that...? >:(

14:35 playing world of tanks made me a better tanker in this game since I knew where to aim to get the best hits how to take on over tanks and also positioning my tank to use my armour effectively

Doesn't matter if it's not fair, part of the game to use AA and Fliegerfaust to take down enemy planes when they take the airfield. If you defend the airfield good enough they won't take it. If they do and you get shot down, well it's time to go infantry. I guess the airfield is the turning point on this map
