자기전에 들으러왔어요..벌써 복가의 시간도 2년이나 흘렀다는게 신기하죠. 그때의 감정이 아직도 노래 들을때마다 벅차오르는데. 팬들 생각하며 불렀다고 말하며 '고된 나'라고 스스로를 지칭하고 고된 본인을 선택한 팬들이라는 말에 심장이 덜컹했네요. 규랑 가는 길이 고된적 한번도 없었죠. 규는 항상 스스로 너무 잘하는 사람이고 팬들한테 걱정이나 한 한번도 심어준적없이 항상 좋은 모습 믿고 기다리면 되는 모습만 보여줬는데 고되다뇨. 규는 힘든 시간을 보낸적도 많겠지만 그런 티 낸적없이 팬들은 마냥 꽃길만 걸었는걸요. 긴시간 그렇게 달려줘서 너무 고마워요..늘 받기만 하게 해줘서 미안하고 고마워요..

I come to listen again after Kyuhyun appeared on NAVER Now. He said he didn't have the chance to explain the reason why he chose to sing this song before. He told us that he was thinking of fans that accompanied him went through the up and down when he is choosing and singing this song. I'm so glad and proud that I'm an ELF. I've been wanting for Kyu to sing a Yoon Jong Shin song on KOMS so badly and I especially wanted him to sing "Uphill Road", since it's my favourite by him (along with "Exhaustion" and "Like It"). So naturally, when the music started playing and I realised that the song is "Uphill Road", I died from happiness! The way he delivered the song was so pure and flawless that it soothed my soul. The performance was just so beautiful (easily one of my personal faves)!💙 Jinie-nim, thank you for being a singer! Thank you for gifting us with such incredible perfomances! Kyuhyun is so underrated. Is that the right word? I mean, these performances are amazing and yet the views huhu. I even went around requesting this to other channels so he'd get more exposure but I haven't seen any new reviews. That being said, I think this will be his new rising era. As long as he gets to promote and sing live, he'll show them his talent. You can see in the audience, they're blown away. He's at his peak.

@@altoineta but to be honest... I'm okay with that as long as the GP supports him. If his music is not the typical kpop that new kpop fans prefer, that's that. But his vocal talent and ability to convey emotions, that's something that can touch many people regardless of preference. I remember before he went to the military, I felt people were so surprised when they heard him in KOMS the first time. I know he also talked about it in past interviews (iirc), how SJ became really known for their fun personalities and great hosting skills and that kind of got more spotlight than their singing. I think everything is coming together for him now.

It's probably the generation gap. New kpop fans are into the 3rd gen more than the 2nd gen. Makes sense since the 3rd gen groups are more popular rn and get more exposure. The fans who got into kpop in the so called "Golden Age" are more into the 2 gen idols. Hence why sometimes Suju's amazing vocal line is not in the talks when discussing vocal talent (and they should!). I would love for more people to react to Kyu's singing, specially the classical musicians and the voice teachers, because he is known to have one of the best if not the best technique. But as I said 3rd gen idols are the ones bringing the views nowadays. But among the general audiences and Korean singers/songwriters/producers, Kyuhyun is well known as a great vocalist, and with KOMS, Run.Wav and Love at First Song he is being able to showcase his voice outside promotions so there's that :)

I love this version. It sounds like he holding hands of his love one going uphill together. Though the hill was high and so steep, he would not let go of her hands and take her to the very end. His voice was so warm, steady and strong giving the feeling of protectiveness and reliability. The original version sounds differently. It told a story of a couple in real life that they had to struggle through difficulties like going uphill.

This is my fave performance out of all the songs he performed on KOMS. I just love him singing so comfortably like this and it sounds more like how kyuhyun in the past would sing with his really deep soothing voice. I dont know how to explain this but since kyuhyun debuted solo, his singing style changed slightly. It's not really noticeable but if you've been a big fan of him since the old days then you might have.

yes, he is. Before this, his key note didnt reach high as yesung and ryeowook as i think his voice is like a baritone at first. But he keep evolving and now his key note is comparable to yesung and ryeowook.

Not that he's bad now, he's still a great vocalist, but he was sooo relaxed hitting a high note before that people even thought he was lip syncing and his notes were always stable before like he could hold that note for a really long time. I guess it was because he had vocal cord nodules. He's a lot better now though than before he entered military ^^

@@haenateuk1006 I think he is just being more expressive now. People kept saying before that there is no feeling when he sings just because he keeps his face straight even while hitting high notes. But, I believe nothing has changed with his skills? Just became more expressive. His vibrato is still great and he can still hold notes just like before. I can feel his singing more now than before.

I feel it too. I really love his low notes with deep resonant voices even in some simple lines in dance songs of SJ. His technique is better now as his high notes become more stable and resonant but something in his lower register changed and I miss it.

The first time I heard this song, I think he has prepared to lose. However, keep listening with sub, I understand why he won this round. Beyond an amazing voice, Genie has ability to bring emotions and keep them in people’s mind (My English is not good so I don’t know how to explain in appropriated way :) ) He just perfectly interpret this song and make audience feel it. Even though, his score is lower from previous episodes, I still think that he is getting better as his opponent is really amazing too.
