Kyu did exactly what he did with "Wild Flower" in this song. He toned it down a notch to fit his range just so he can showcase that amazing control and resonance without sacrificing the beauty and emotions of the song. If you know him, he would never go for the belting just so he can say he can while risking strain in the end. He stuck to his methods and abilities and that maturity just enables him to give out performances that outshines the last one he did. I have no words on how proud I am that he owned this song techniques and emotion wise.

What a moron, you can't showcase control if that control is done at a pitch that normal people can also control. That is just absurd. If you strain then it's not belting anymore, if you can sing it at the original key then you need to able to say that you did it without risking. What I love about his performances is that he doesn’t try to sing exactly like the original singer, instead he’s singing it in his own way without reducing the meaning of the song thus making the song like his own. Many people sang this song in its original key (which is very high) to show off their vocal without realising that they’re actually screaming and straining their voice. Kyuhyun is a good and smart vocalist who knows his voice well. Anyway his song selections for KOMS so far is really really good. He’s really going all out. He went there with the intention to win and he did and he also doesn’t seem to want to let go of the throne anytime soon. Looking forward to many more defensive stages from you Jinie-nim. Hwaiting!!!

You can't say that singing in the original key is screaming, you can't scream an entire song. If one can sing like the original, he is already a very good singer. Rearrangement doesn't make you a better singer, it only gives you better performance than what you would've done, if they can sing it on the fifth, they can also sing it like this guy, it's just easier than the original.

Emm I think it's because he's always been this good? But he didn't receive much spotlight back then ((even though his performances were magnificent nonetheless)) since singing related shows were not that big compared to its popularity now. I recommend checking Kyuhyun's performances in Immortal songs (I really love "Etude of Memory"), his solo at super shows/smtown concerts, his live performances such as "As Time Goes By", "Snail", "That man", "Nothing's better", "Snow flower", his other sukira lives, and this goes without saying, his OSTs ("listen.. to love", "way to break up", and "hope is a dream that doesn't fall asleep" to name a few) EDIT: Please check out kyuhyun's solo from yoon jong shin monthly project (2011), "Late Autumn", not mentioning this song is blasphemy for his other performances.

Even if he didn't go for the high note like the original singer did, he still manage to deliver a touching performance. Celebs (they tend to exaggerate their reaction) & female audience aside, look at the male audience. They were touched & in awe with his voice so he did a pretty good job imho. I love Naul ver & Kyuhyun ver both! To those that said he lower the key to "make it easier to sing" the song, try singing like Kyuhyun did. See if u can be 0.1% as good as him. If not then stfu & sit tf down susan. Edit: i really wish for Kyuhyun to sing Park Hyoshin's "Snow Flower" (I'm Sorry I Love You ost). Demn, it will be another masterpiece from him..

It is the best version for me. The fact that he doesn't sing the original key doesn't mean he's not good at it. But he knows enough about his own abilities and makes it well in his own style. Many people sing this song with original key. They often strain.But Kyuhyun chose to sing in the notes that were comfortable for him. If you have enough knowledge of vocal techniques You will know that Kyuhyun sings with a high note for tenor. Those notes support and resonance sound. It's better than singing with those high notes.

I don't understand why people have complaints when they win with ballads? I mean just look at this performance. The ballad lets his VOICE shine the most because it's the highlight/main, not even the instrumentals can usurp that. It doesn't rely on the beat or the busy music to bring out emotions in you. His voice does the most. But if he and the competitors all did ballads, then he wold still have a solid chance of bagging it because he's a damn good singer.
