I knew it was a matter or time before a company realised how awesome Hamberg matten filters were. Thing is, they're so easy to make at home, my last one on a 10 gallon cost about 2 pounds to make. Hopefully the price wont be too much, it does look quite nice.

In fact, a classic DIY HMF has far bigger volume of the sponge than this filter. Acutally, same with typical air-driven, normal sponge filter. But, not everyone likes typical sponge filters, as they usually don't look good. This filter manufactured by JBL is easy to hide, and it has far bigger surface of the sponge than conventional JBL internal filters.

DefiniteAquascapeTV they'll be useful for picto tanks, they seem to have quite a small footprint in the tank, always a plus.

Believe me, the companies have already realised how effective a "Hamburger Matten Filter - HMF" is, but they also know, how cheap a DIY HMF can be in contrast to their products. Cheers !!

I think JBL has very clever filtersolutions and all my filters and heaters are actually from JBL ; )

Thanks but I already asked and there is some sort of law that needs to change or something, not really sure what that's all about but in a nutshell it's not going to happen anytime soon... Oh well I'll just have to deal with the Chinese knock-offs..
