We had only seen a slight glimpse of that villain in a singular scene of the chapter 3 season 3 trailer before and her name is the Herald, the main theory at the moment is that she is the messenger of the Cube Queen

So, whenever a new Fortnite season starts it sort of drops us in the middle of the story with the cinematics and battlepass info we're given, and throughout the season we get audio in game or map changes that help us piece the puzzle together. The villain we see is called The Herald and she works for the Cube Queen from Season 7 and 8 of Chapter 2, and that blue guy that looks like his head is on fire is The Origin who use to be the Cube King. The other people we saw with The Origin in the beginning were: The Scientist, from chapter 1 season 10, who was looking at the silvery goo, called "Chrome", through the microscope, the other guy with the helmet on was The Traveler from chapter 1 season 4, and the woman is The Paradigm who helped pilot the mech in the Collision event in chapter 3 season 2, also she's voiced by and modeled after Brie Larson like how Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson plays The Foundation. We aren't super sure where the rest of The Seven (The Foundation, The Imagined, and The Order) or Agent Jones are right now either.

The chrome and everything around s4 really came out of nowhere. At the end of ch3 s3, small chrome puddles from the zeropoint appeared around the map, which is why The Seven were studying it. (And yes all this is new that we havent seen before)

All the lore is explained in the in game quest and missions, so the reason everything does not line up its because the story is hidden in the actual game itself. The live event those are the finale and the background lore is in the Quest

Story is seen during the season quests of the Seven speaking to the players about their actions so you need to complete story quests during season to have more understanding of the next season trailer

To sum it up real quick: After the collision event, The Seven defeated the Imagined Order (Geno still lived which you'd know from the comics) and in Chapter 3 Season 3 the reality tree came to the island and started using the Zero Points energy, now it's spreading Chrome everywhere

I HIGHLY recommend watching all of the COD Zombies trailers or cutscenes. Each map has an in depth secret easter egg you have to solve which leads to a boss fight and end cutscene so if you wanna watch all EE's I highly recommened, one of the best stories in gaming

the metal thing is called chrome, the villain is new and her name is The Herald, there is also a theory that The Herald is a messenger from the cube queen from back in chapter 2 season 8 and is here to send a "message"

Most folks assume the Villain, Herald, is working for the Cube Queen based on her appearance, but she may just be the same race and working for someone... or something else. The Seven are also split into two groups right now so no one has any idea what the other folks (and Jones Prime) are doing. Pretty sure you guys also missed the intro trailer that tells why the zero point is all goopy.. and angry.

You can get the context of how this trailer connects to fortnite lore from fortnite marvel the zero war series in the end of the comics The Seven Defeat Geno and with Geno being defeated his last words were that the Omniverse will fall into darkness without The Imaginded Order to be there because The zero point is created from everything and nothing Geno was there to keep the balance between The everything and nothing but now with The Imagined Order gone there is no balance and This lady in the trailer that took over the island is sent by an entity called the Nothing if it takes control over the island it takes control over the whole Omniverse

The villain we see at the end of the storyline trailer & we get a few glimpses of during the gameplay trailer is named “The Harold”,and we do see her at the last second of the ch3 s3 trailer as she was the purple lady watching us through her little crystal zero point whilst also looking over The Reality Tree.She is the controller of The Chrome,and the reason The Seven are studying it is cause they know it could be dangerous,and Origin(the guy with flames on his head)knew who was controlling the chrome which is why they were down there he was prepared to attack The Harold,but she struck first leaving us to fend for ourselves with Jones & Amie helping out whilst Paradigm heads to reality 6-5-9 to find something that’ll reverse the chromes effect to save the island.However if you notice The Harold’s name quite literally means or messenger or bringer of bad news,and it’s heavily theorized she is on the island to prepare it for something called “The Nothing” which is mentioned in her skin description & music pack as they say “The Nothing is coming”.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames aye, we all make mistakes :) here's how to catch up (this is a long list so sorry about this) Both Chapter 2 Season 2 Trailers The entire resistance questline, there are a few videos here that go over it and it'll help you know what went on during the war. Chapter 3 Season 3 Trailers And the whole vibin questline, and again there'll be videos here you can watch and know what happened after the war and before "paradise". And then the paradise questline that you should watch at the end of this season (in December). There's also comics you can watch videos on, I'm pretty sure PlayStationGrenade has done recaos on all of them: You should watch in this order, (these comics gave us a lot of knowledge of the lore of this game and should not be ignored) Batman: Zero Point Batman: Foundation Marvel x Fortnite: Zero War Again I'm sorry for all the reading but this game pumps out a lot of things in very small time frames. :)

Here is what we know so far. Since the end of the Zero War (Chapter 3 Season 2), the island was assumably safe with the Zero Point freed. However, The Scientist (One of The Seven) was unsure of the decision, believing that there was a terrible consequence coming with it. His fears were further heightened after he gained distressing messages from Bushranger (A tree creature skin) after having planted a cutting of him near The Reality Tree. Over the course of Chapter 3 Season 3 (Vibin'), we had to find artifacts that were being pushed out by the Zero Point alongside A.M.I.E (The Scientist's new A.I designed for The Paradigm). These artifacts included items from the Chapter 1 Island (Athena), a Sith Holocron (An information device from Star Wars that Darth Vader would kill for), a strange artifact from the reality of Indiana Jones, and a small chair which was found on the Chapter 2 Island (Apollo) which has the unique ability to change it's size. Over the course of this artifact hunt quest though, members of The Seven had started going missing. First was The Foundation (Leader of The Seven, A.K.A The Rock) whose helmet was found nearby his decimated statue at Sanctuary (The Seven's home base, and a POI until Chapter 3 Season 4). Then The Visitor (The Seven's main recon expert) disappeared with his helmet outside Condo Canyon (A POI in the south eastern corner of the current map), and several cameras having their footage lost. Then The Imagined and The Order (Referred to as The Sisters, and the daughters of Geno) had went missing. At this point, The Paradigm (The Seven's Ace Pilot who returned after The Zero War) sent out a high alert to The Scientist as a means to say that things have gone down. Luckily, The Paradigm finds that The Scientist, alongside The Origin (The Seven's War General, formerly The Cube King) and The Visitor were safe in The Scientist's Bunker. The Scientist had deduced that an unknown force was taking members of The Seven away, with reports of silver footprints being found at the usual routine spots of The Seven members. This silver material was Chrome (A liquid material similar to gallium, with a high tendency to rapidly duplicate it's structure), which was slowly taking the island. As seen in the Chapter 3 Season 4 Trailer, it shows the dangers of the Chrome as it absorbs three out of the four remaining members of The Seven, aside Paradigm who escaped to Reality 659. At the end of the trailer, we see a strange flower person who the community called the Bloomwatcher. However, we have come to learn their name as The Herald (A strange flowery being who is a member of The Nothing, commanding the Chrome on the Island). The new threat on the island is the Chrome, or more specifically the 'leader' of the Chrome, referred as The Nothing (Both the name of a following for those who accepted the powers of Chrome, as well as the name of a Chrome Entity who channels themselves through TVs). Over time, The Nothing is absorbing the Island with Chrome at an alarming rate, and with The Seven gone, it is chaos in the co-operation department. The only people remaining besides any Seven Guards are Jones (John Jones, a former member of the Imagined Order, now referring to himself as 'The Legend') and A.M.I.E. Despite being able to defeat The Herald though, it doesn't stop the island's Chrome issues, and with the situation getting out of hand, the future of the island is uncertain. That is all we know at this point.

the bloom watcher the purple pink haired lady is a villain we've been watching and known since last season with the reality tree. she's kinda like the queen of the chrome as like we had the cube queen. Only other villain left we know about or heard about and don't really know anything yet is Geno which we have 2 people going after, they are in the reality point the 2 going after geno are Foundation and jonsey. Now paradigm went in for some reason. she has another skin from the item shop but they just announced her as being Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) she also as seen in the trailer just went into the reality point. all we know really so far

After the s2 ch3 live event the zero point was freed and in s3 a thing called the reality tree grew from the freed power of the zero point. The person controlling the reality tree was The Harold which is the evil looking character in this season’s trailer. All throughout s3 the reality trees roots where spreading all across the island and at the ending of s3 the power in the reality tree began to release as this chrome stuff which is why the scientists and other members of the seven were studying it. The reality tree is now dying because of The Harold controlling it to release all its power to turn into chrome so the chrome could consume the whole island. Hope u guys were able to see this and hoped this help fill in the gaps you guys were missing

I feel like its a bit of a random season at least now at the start.. This chrome thing kinda seemed to come out of nowhere. Also 'll say as a player it really doesn't bring anything new or inventive to the battle royale part which normally is something that happens at the start of a season. Yes the chrome thing is new, but it's just idk odd and out of place after such a major ending of the last season that never mentioned anything about a chrome thing. (Spider Gwen is really well done tho but it''s the final reward (lvl 100) of the battlepass, so that's disappointing and takes too much work..)
