I gotta say, even though they might as well be considered Non-Canon as far as the Main Story is considered, the Rare Blades has always been amongst my favorite things about this Game, with some of them even being amongst my Favorite Characters in the Game too, especially with each of the them (for the most part) having their own Side-Story Quests amongst other things, I really appreciate that you Reacted to these. My favorite Blade of these will always be Roc. I love his design, a colorful fighting bird and double handed weapons too just amazing. Also if you where wondering why many of them glowed at the start of their awakening or what a Driver is I’ll explain. Spoilers of course so all that don’t want to read it then stop here: In the world of Xenoblade 2 humans can bond with a core crystal (a blue cube-like crystal) and awaken a Blade. Said Blade will from that moment onward be bonded to that human only meaning if the human dies the Blade returns to the core. If that happens another human can pick up that Blade core and reawaken it again. The Blade gets imprinted by the humans thoughts and character that awakens it… so if a criminal awakens the Blade it will also be a criminal, but if a good person picks the crystal up again the Blade will do good. Just their memories get wiped when they return to the core but other than that or the crystal getting damaged, the Blade is immortal. Oh yeah and the person that awakens the crystal is called a Driver… that’s roughly all.

Really sucks that we never got the final Chaos story map, which was supposed to have a huge stealth-like boss fight against Medusa in the Library of Alexandria right before it burst into flames. Would have probably also had Diego's death, leaving Scarlett against everybody, and it might have had a cool 1v3 PvP boss fight with Scarlett against Dark Diego, Dark Bruno, and Dark Shaw, somewhat like the Prisoners versus Weasel fight in Mob of the Dead.

2:28 the crystals are a reference to the game KOS-MOS comes from(Xenosaga) where a crystal emerges from her back and unfolds into segments before firing the cannon in her stomach. Interestingly the crystals all over her body seem to reference her Third Armament(also from Xenosaga). Another reference I noticed is her iconic miniguns have been replaced with Zohars

Mini Lore Dump: So in the world of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Blades are a sort of symbiotic race, relying on other living beings to exist, that are able to channel the elements of ether of the world. They start their existence as blue cubic stones known as Core Crystals that, when it resonates with a living being (human, nopon or animal) with aptitude, the Blade will awaken from their crystal and take shape with the crystal itself nestling on the Blade's chest. If someone who lacks this aptitude attempts to resonate with a Blade, the results are bloody to say the least. The Blade will then be able to exist in a symbiotic relationship with their Driver (a term used to refer to whoever resonated with them), granting them power in battle, helping them in specific tasks, or simply being a trusted friend or family (some even go the extra step with them. All I'll say is that Blades and Humans ARE biologically compatible). It is also possible for a Driver to be in resonance with more than one Blade. Of course til death do they part, when a Blade's Driver dies, the Blade will be forced back into their Core Crystal which will grow dull for a time before recharging. This doesn't necessarily mean that the Blade will die as the Core Crystal will eventually recharge and be ready for a new Driver, but when the Blade reawakens to a new Driver all their memories from their past incarnation are wiped clean, leaving them with only their base personality, abilities and a handful of basic knowledge about their new Driver. While Blades are typically loyal to their Drivers, should push come to shove (i.e. their Driver constantly mistreats them) some are willing to outright 'commit suicide' via killing their own Driver. While functionally immortal, it is possible to kill a Blade permanently by damaging their Core Crystal (thankfully borderline impossible by conventional means). Normally, all Blades start off with a similar appearance when they are awakened for the very first time, typically appearing as grey humanoids with white armour. But as they resonate with different Drivers during their existence, they start to pick up on little bits and habits from each new driver, from the driver's own appearance or their thoughts and desires, which will shape them overtime and turn them into unique individuals (can be little things like accents or habits or big things like their appearance and abilities). The longer a Blade lasts in a specific incarnation, the more their Driver of that incarnations will rub off on them and influence their next incarnation with the process happening as early as their current incarnation. There's quite a bit more to them but I'll refrain from talking about that stuff due to it being heavy major spoiler territory. Final fun fact: in the English Dub all characters in Xenoblade typically have various European accents. However, all the Blades have American accents instead. Additional Fun Fact: Monolithsoft hired a bunch of artists for designing these Blades including Tetsuya Nomura who is well known for his work in Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.

odd the video you wastched didnt include t-elos i think she can only be aquired either postgame or ng+, theres also a couple dlc blades as well. the last 6 blades you saw are ng+ only and are actually part of the antagonistic faction, theres a 7th one too but he joins without an awakening

I really didn’t liked the English dub for this game at all, and when I changed it to the JP VA I was really surprised how much localization changed, just as an example they even change names of character

From what I remeber the game had alot of guest designers to make whatever blade they wanted. Unfortunately most of them made women xD
