The reference to ‘made in Japan’ is also to the fact that in the 1950s Japanese manufacturing and electronics had a bad reputation, not unlike ‘made in China’ has for so long been synonymous with poor quality. As you noted, this reputation changed so quickly that it would have sounded funny to someone in 1990.

I love everything about the trilogy. I was a teenager in the mid-80's and was instantly hooked when the original came out. Part 3 really highlights the brilliance of Tom Wilson. Of course Biff was integral to the first 2 movies, but I think BTTF is generally thought of as a Michael J Fox & Christopher Lloyd franchise (for good reason). Unlike both of them Tom was unknown before we were introduced to Biff, but he definitely deserves more love for the range he shows throughout the trilogy culminating with "Mad Dog" Tannen.

As for the second Delorean, when putting a vehicle into long-term storage (70yrs; 1885-1955), you would drain all of the fluids. Doc, being a scientist & engineer, would know this. So, there wouldn't be fuel left in the gas tank.

The empty fire extinguisher is not a reference to Doc's mansion burning down. In the first film after we see the newspaper saying Brown Mansion Destroyed, Doc said it took him almost 30 years (and his entire family fortune) to realize the vision he had the day he came up with the flux capacitor. The obvious inference is that he himself burned down his mansion to get the insurance money to finance his dream.

1885 Doc and Marty couldn’t disturb Doc’s DeLorean in 1885 because it would disrupt the continuum and possibly prevent 1955 Marty from going back to 1885 to save Doc.

BTTF 3 is my favorite of the 3 movies, i watched it 30 times in 2023 alone at least. I love how it ties the rest of the movies together and also the relationship between Doc & Marty gets so much sweeter. When docs reading the letter, when they're talking about women, there are just so many good moments that no other two actors could have pulled off. I know about all these easter eggs but only because of videos like this and how much i watch the movies, i still will watch anything BTTF related and i enjoyed watching this.

Doc Brown, being a genius, would know that fuel degrades after a certain amount of time, it might even have damaged the Delorean's fuel lines, so he would have drained the tank before sealing away the time machine. Given the limited shelf life of refined petroleum, and having little use for it in 1885, he probably disposed of it months ago

@@DrJD123 The problem with all of the gas related issues is you can run a car, carbonated or fuel injected on ethanol. Ethanol would have been reasonably common then, aka moonshine, along with easy to make, some grain, warm water, and yeast. Distill it off and you have fuel. But, you don't have a movie then either.

There was two things in an earlier draft of BttF3 that dealt with the gasoline pothole. Initially, the transmission was damaged and that was problem. In a later draft Doc said that he had removed all the fluids from the Delorean to preserve it. @@heavyspoilers you are very welcome. I read or saw an interview (don’t remember which) in which Robert Zemeckis said he based Rich Biff Tannen in BTTF 2 on Donald Trump, was already ‘infamous’ by then for junk TV shows like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous☮️

The reason they don't take the fuel from the other Delorean is because messing with it in any way could seriously affect the future thus preventing Marty from traveling back in the first place causing a paradox.

And Doc had drained the gas before storing the DeLorean. Referenced by them filling the DeLorean with gas after they dug it up in 1955. Now that makes me have a question... what happened to the Mr Fusion conversion Doc had done at the beginning of the second movie?

@@alexanderholloway7110The Mr. Fusion still existed. They even mentioned it in Part 3. Marty says, after mentioning losing fuel, "It's alright because we still have Mr. Fusion." And Doc tells him that Mr. Fusion runs the time circuits but that the engine runs on regular gasoline.

I always hated they didnt realise Clara could never have erected Docs tombstone as "his beloved clara" as she shouldve been dead before they ever met by going over the cliff in the normal timeline BEFORE doc got shot, she was ONLY saved bcos marty went back and wrecked the fuel tank so they needed other options....thats the way i see it...
@Hezkezl
@Hezkezl 4 ай бұрын
Actually, Doc being sent back to 1885 originally is what changed the Clayton Ravine thing. In the original timeline without him there, the Mayor didn't have anybody to send to pick her up at the train station so she rented that wagon and died going over the edge. With Doc there, he went and picked her up and they still fell in love and she erected the tombstone after he died. Marty and Doc both know Calyton Ravine's name because it was that way when they were growing up in the original timeline. Doc going back probably would've made the ravine keep it's "old Indian name" the whole time, so kids in that altered timeline wouldn't know what was being talked about if Clayton Ravine was ever said. With Marty going back and distracting Doc by being there, Clara never got picked up at the station so she rented the wagon anyways and would've been forced into her original fate if Doc didn't manage to ride up and save her just in time. So, yeah... to reiterate: Without Doc being there, she would've gone over the ravine. With Doc there, they fell in love and he died 2 days after being shot. With Marty and Doc being there, she would've gone over the Ravine but Doc saved her just in time. The Mayor didn't show up to ask Doc about it because Marty was there, Doc being there in the first place made the Mayor ask. @cob2076

I got to tell you dude, I’ve been watching your channel for years now. But to be completely honest, I’ve taken some time off the last couple months. It wasn’t that you were doing anything wrong, I think It was more of an algorithm thing, you weren’t showing up in my feed as much, and I just didn’t have much time. But these breakdowns....(especially considering this is my favorite trilogy of all time) are a great idea, and I know I’m definitely back on board, so I hope that happens with more people, and that you keep getting the success that you deserve

Fox almost died when he was hanging by the rope! I'm almost 15 minutes in the video but the hanging was mentioned. Also I don't think anybody better could have played Clara so I'm thankful to her children for not dropping the issue and making her take that role. Her sweet voice and soft look was perfect for Clara!!

It was mentioned that all the fluids were drained from the DeLorean by Doc when he buried it in the mine and everything was topped off just prior to bringing the car to the Drive-In Theater. So no, there was no gas in the old DeLorean already burried in 1885 when Marty ripped the fuel line.

BTTF III certainly came with two western film concepts and aspects from two other separate western films, Combined concept of "The Good The Bad The Ugly" and "True Grit"( Tannen/Marty "Eastwood" Spat with each other during the Courthouse Dance Party) and the combined aspects of "High Noon"(The Comedy of the entire thing) and The Lone Ranger(Train-jacking).
