I was there and trust me that the Flat water you see in the video is actually a big chop. That's an extremely tough race: you start sailing thinking that there will be flat water and then you find yourself sailing at full speed in a motocross race track :)

AlexCaveArtwork I think I'm right in saying that you'll find that is the start line judge's boat. There are two points marked by bouys or flags, but with a large number of competitors, a start judge rides in a speed boat in a straight line between the flags to show the sailors where the line is and to watch for any that jump the gun. This is made possible and fair due to the line being angled so that the earliest part of the line that gets "opened" buy the start boat is furthest from the first turn marker. It's all worked out in advance by taking into account the angle of the wind etc. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. 👍

I see you have a shark sticker on your sail. Am I right in thinking that this is a sign to them that you are shark friendly, so they wont attack? I've heard that the biggest sharks can eat a sailor and his board and rig in just two bites, then it will walk up on the beach later and sign the sailors name, so that no one knows you were eaten!
