Compared to typical panelformers, this is more like chunks moving, and you dont have to worry about multiple wobbly panels squeezing together. When compared this to KFC blaster, xtransbots motormaster or haslab Unicron its miles different

Most Panel Heavy figures are like a Thousand TINY panels. They basically flay in a million directions and then you basically have to weave them together to make the figure. But here. His legs turn into one Giant panel each. His arms turn into one Large Panel each. His back turns into a Giant panel. So there are only like 5 of them as opposed to a hundred.

If there’s one thing that Deformation Space and FansToys has made us remember is that G1 Blaster had one of, if not the most weirdly designed hip section out of the Transformers with with more humanoid robot modes.

Yeah, I definitely prefer the ports on the sides of Kingdom/Legacy Blaster's rifle, which not only adds to play value but reflects the hole through the G1 toy's gun, designed to store the earpieces when he was a functional radio toy. Of course the radio mode (and the robot mode) of the DS Blaster looks cleaner and especially nice overall. (And the size probably works wonderfully at the Masterpiece scale.)

I sincerely doubt the two tape gimmick works better with tapes. The Spring on it is pretty weak and it would likely only get more stuck with no way to snake in the part to get it out. The weight doesn't do anything for me, cause I know the majority of the figure is exactly as durable as normal.

Minion canon week. Eager to see which ones fill out the rest of the week. I've had to make my G1 cast collection in Legends scale for my own shelf space and recently got NewAge's Scaramanga (Soundwave), he comes with Rumble, Ravage and Laserbeak all of which transform uniquely to counterparts, while Soundwave himself is pretty familiar to the MP. I would recommend. NA really feels like the MMC for Legends scale. As for Blaster, I wish more of him would include Steeljaw as well as Ramhorn. The Minion Canons always felt like the Cybertronian equivalent of DnD Rangers, to me. Felt really odd learning that in some continuities Soundwave's minion entourage were half witchdoctor-esque punishments to formerly full-sized "real boi" cybertronians. Made me start wondering about the goon twins, Rumble and Frenzy, the only two to maintain humanoid form and unconditional ability to speak. I personally prefer the animal ones to just be bonded cybertronian wildlife, learning speech could just be a part of the pairing with their minion canon.

An interesting guess, but who knows if you are right, we will see. Well in IDW Laserbeak, Ravage, Rumble, and Frenzy were just naturally small, and they were just friends of Soundwave, unlike Ratbat. Also Ravage could talk. And exactly how did they feel like Rangers from DnD. Ranger Pets Suck, and they only get one.

@@PerspectiveEnd Not if they are pack master archtype, and their aptitude or suckitude lay in how you use them. I had a friend who was a wolf-focused pack master ranger, and he was a nightmare to build encounters for, as he'd use the wolves' improved trip on enemies and follow up with pins and coup de gras rules. Of course I'm the kind of DnD player that takes blanket statements as a challenge. Like "Rogues can't tank", made one of my group favorite characters off that little line in challenge. Of course not as sure his build would work as well in 5e or even pathfinder, anymore. I'd have to look up the rules and limitations on Combat Reflexes and the Dodge tree to see.

I think this is the best Blaster period. I don't like Blaster as a character for the show so I have no plans to ever get one but I think Deformation Space nailed this one. I know FansToys has one coming soon (?) too but I think this one is probably just as good or better than that one will be and probably half the cost. Good review. I saw another review awhile ago and I thought it looked good in that review too. I would have probably put it next to the Takara Soundwave for scale in both modes but aside from that it was a good review.

imo this guy should look great. Theoretically everything is there for a great blaster. but it just feels.... off. I'm not sure what it is but there's something uncanny about it and it's more than just the face. I can't even point to anything about it that looks bad, it just doesn't feel right to me. Like it's in the uncanny valley but it's in that particular sweet spot where I can't tell what makes it look wrong but it unironically hurts me to look at. I'm in a constant state of fight or flight and no transformer has ever done this to me.

If Fanstoys' upcoming Blaster is anywhere near the build quality on this one, they might be a good rival. Both seem to be exceptionally similar in posing and sculpt, but FT might have better paint while this one better transformation. I would not say buy the FT one just to compare (cause you clearly don't care for FT), but I'm just saying it's quite a year for Blaster for some reason.

I've never liked the Marvel head, it doesn't fit the character. It's too war like, and Blaster Aint Got Time For That. Rewind. Rewind in IDW was a great character, and he's pretty much the only one of Blasters Characters to ever get development like that.
