There was something about Tomorrowland in it's early years. When Hard Trance was still a major genre and electronic music wasn't being exploited/corporatized/having an identity crisis. I never went but you can tell how the energy changed if you watch the aftermovies. Nowadays T-Land is kind of this mecca for fans of the current mainstream sound. But you can tell how it used to be back when guys like Yoji and Eddie Halliwell etc played. We still have Defqon, Awakenings, Rampage, etc for more artistic sounds, luckily.

What gets me most is how they know the words to literally ALL the songs. I think that really separates Hardstyle crowds from other EDM--If you go see Nicky Romero's mainstage Tomorrowland set, the crowd will sing along to 2 or 3 of his hits and mainstream vocals he's mashed up, and for the rest of the set they just pretend to know the songs...

When you can drop the Macarana mid set and have everyone still going crazy then you know you're something special. I seen them here in Scotland and they played the Chicken Dance and not one person moaned and just laughed and had a good time :)
