People complain every year, but it seems as if every Defqon.1 anthem makes history, as if everyone had always loved it, when people suddenly remember what memories the anthems created. Being around KZbin and seeing people hating on anthems such as SYSFV, World of Madness, etc., while you still the following years see people "missing" those anthem when a majority hated them during the edition of event. It just seems as when anthems return on future dj sets, people will always appreciate those tracks returning like never before. This track gets me going in a sick festival camp mood, so props to HZ and WSZ for this anthem, I honestly don't wish or need something differently. The thump of the low subkick in the mid-intro and the distorted screech with the tribal choir complimenting it just gets me hyped in a "tribal bootcamp mood", it reminds me of the early mornings at camp sites that makes you jump up widely awake just to loosen yourself to this sound, as if your camp site is the best "tribe" amongst the anthem, broadly speaking. Unfortunately, not everyone think this approach of style is what shall be expected for an anthem, but that is where the collision of boundary and expectation occur? Although the mid-intro arrangement of the screech and the saw stabs layered underneath it would have been approached differently, had it been done by myself, I still think it is super catchy and the emotion of the track during its breakdown leading into a "generic" but yet simple and expected melody gets the crowd and doesn't require much thought processing to be screaming loudly along with the simplicity of notes. This in my opinion, is how you create a crowd-oriented anthem. I think people have too high expectations, it is certainly not badly produced, and it has a solid trademark that people will remember onwards when they are going to hate upcoming anthems similarly as usual. These anthems have been standardized too much as to what people crave. You know what? Every anthem will be nostalgic for what it is and will later on create memories that makes such Defqon.1 festivals memoriable for what they are. That is how you create a great track when you tie it to your own personal experiences with it being played. No other expectations shall be fulfilled.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: This anthem isn't good enough for DQ1. That's established. But the reason a more fitting composer didn't produce the track is marketing. Heady's return was and is a cash cow for QDance and they will use it to their advantage way beyond when it seems suitable.

Anym Personally, I think headhunterz deserves to be a prominent feature in hardstyle today. However I don't believe in hyping it beyond what it is. He did not deserve to maket the DQ anthem this year (given that both 2009 and 2012 were made by him, 2012 by wildstylez as well) but I think he can be a great producer. For me, Q-Dance holds the blame for this one.

As few people already pointed out, the anthem really gets better while listening more and more of it. However, given the fact that there are plenty of other acts that have never made an anthem (DBSTF,Psyko Punkz, Atmozfears) it is quite interesting to see that Headhunterz & Wildstylez get to make it again. And don't get me wrong I went nuts after seeing that it was made by Project One! But after listening to it, only one solid thought came to my mind.... SUB ZERO PROJECT can really make an anthem to better fit theme "Maximum Force"! I am a huge fan of all kinds of hardstyle for many years now, and without disrespecting this beautiful creation of Project One, I still feel like I either raised my expectation too high due to how much respect I pay to both of these guys, or literally Sub Zero Project, in my opinion, is going to be the act that will create the next long-standing Defqon Anthem (like world of madness longetivity kinda thing).

The more I listen to it, the better it gets (as it happens every year). The melody is quite generic. The track does feel rushed at some points and the pitch shift of the second climax sounds lazy. This track lacks the Defqon.1 feeling like other anthems have. But the mid-intro and the climax are pretty decent. It feels more like a Defqon.1 Australia anthem. And well done Q-Dance, you have milked Heady successfully once again. All in all, underwhelming is the word. Edit: It’s actually getting worse the more I listen to it. This is undoubtedly the worst Defqon.1 Anthem. Shame.

The last time I really felt the magical touch of hardstyle was back in my senior year of high school. Nearly three years ago. I've forgotten what is was like to hear and feel the music and sounds and how it always put a smile on my face. Life got in the way of me experiencing what I feel right this very moment as I type this, and I won't let it ever again! I know this may sound incredibly fucking stupid but I just wanted to put it out there where maybe someone would possibly actually read this for the very least.

josep juan I am going for a weekend and I'm disappointed. Not a bad track but defininetly not great. Melody is the same as 89ers-Kingston Town

Ran-D no guts no glory is still the best anthem and this one is Bass modulator - dragonblood level. Who agree?
