[DEFUNCT] SPORE - Flora editor (Rob55rod's Branching Evolution) - FUNCTIONAL

[THE MOD IS NO LONGER IN DEVELOPMENT. ASIDE FROM THE FACT THAT I CAN'T SOLVE YOUR ERRORS BECAUSE I NEVER WAS THE DEV, IT IS NOW NO LONGER BEING MAINTAINED AT ALL]
Video is a bit... messy as sony vegas was fighting me while editing, so apologies for any weird moments i didn't manage to catch and snuff out.
This is a little showcase of the Branching Evolution mod for spore, a continuation on Davo's flora editor being developed by Rob55Rod.
At this stage, the editor is pretty much functional aside from certain parts causing crash, some weird bugs and glitches, and most of the detail parts missing models.
I decided to define functional as "I can make a plant without crashing once, and it can look good." Because let's face it, compared to what we used to have this is a damn miracle. I've always had this strange interest in the flora editor, maybe because its something we couldn't have yet do have access to.
Regarding the "These limbs will make you crash unless you're me" bit: For whatever reason (Must be something with my system), I do not crash when trying to put the crash-limbs on and I do not crash if I even try to use them. Of course, it is impossible to use them because they are invisible, but its a strange thing.

I used to have the same issue with OBS Studio having difficulties recording painting changes in Spore as it showed an image of the unfolded png of the creature, however, I was able to fix this by changing the screen record to screen capture instead of tab capture, which I later used in editing to crop out the black border caused by Spore not fitting the standard windows layout. This goes for anyone trying to create spore content, as I once tried in the past.

Strangely enough in the pre-alpha all of the base plant objects are invisible on my screen and don't seem to do anything. Is this project still in development?

can you make it to where you cant remove the root in the meduim since it crashes, aslo the SOL crashes because the plant values arent defined

Hi- I am unfortunately not the person who made this mod, I only showcased it. Rob55Rod is developing it on the side, and I am testing any new versions he provides. Fruit is not present as he has not figured out how to implement it correctly yet. Hopefully one day there will be another public update for everyone to enjoy!

The game Will crash If i use staff of life?the saved flora always crashes the staff in the old flora editor

As long as you don't remove the "gaprop" tag from the plant creation you should be fine.

i cant remove the starting root because it keeps crashing when i move it the slightest

Which size of plant are you trying to move? I remember that for certain plant sizes, removing the root will cause a crash unfortunately.

Unfortunately branching evolution and its unreleased successor, flourish, both are no longer in development. IIRC the flourish dev was willing to hand over the project to anyone that was willing to take it on but one would have to check.

Currently the restoration is only in alpha stages, as a lot of models are missing and its quite crash-happy.
