Don’t let the title fool you, Quintus and the Absent Truth is a dark and dreary horror game about a musician who hasn’t be able to work through his grief. Despite a compelling setup and gameplay that has us switching between a human and a mouse, this game fails to live up to its potential. Between the bland ghost hunting and simplistic puzzle solving, we find a game that isn’t quite sure what it wants to be. Sadly, Quintus is not just absent truth, but also genuine scares and fun level designs. This is a big disappointment.

Hey Cyril, thanks for the review. Games like these are ones I’m more drawn to but I’m not a fan when it’s in first person style & couple that with the review, will give it a miss. As for your question, I love Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon on the 3DS. Just wish it was available on console so I could play it again on the big screen TV. If it became available on the Switch, I’d get it for sure. BTW, I love your inflections & the style you present your videos. It’s just so unique & different from other KZbinrs. You should have much more subs than you do. Keep up the good work, mate! Also, is that funny British who’s sometimes in the videos coming back? I miss him.

QotD: Offhand, I’m going to go with Haunting: Starring Polterguy. That one really seemed to go by unnoticed when it released, so I’m glad I gave it a chance from the rental store.

This game seems like a very generic walking sim that comes out quite often. I can appreciate that they tried something a little different but it doesnt really seem like its doing much to be different then the 100s of other walking sims that come out everyday. QOTD: My favorite ghost game is probably the original Luigi's Mansion. The ghost hunting is tons of fun and the mansion has this really nice sense of atmosphere and exploration.

Sounds like they had a great idea, but somewhere along the way, they dropped the ball. Real shame too. As for the question, tough choice. I mean do I go with the very first game I ever beat on dad's old Atari 2600 with Haunted Mansion, or a game I wish wasn't so obsolete and could find a ROM of with Vic-20's Poltergeist, or the popular and fun Luigi's Mansion? Hmmmm. Think I'll go with one I was playing on earlier today, Ghostbusters. And I mean the newest game, with the actors providing the voices for the characters they played in the movies, and the one before Harold died would have made for a great Ghostbusters 3. Yeah, that's what I'll go for with my answer.

After all that disappointment, I'm surprised this game even earned a solid C. Favorite ghost game? Currently, I really like a shoot-em-up on the MSX called Yuurei-kun (or Mr. Ghost in the unofficial translation).

When I start my review, I will often begin by giving a game the score that is in my head. And then, as I write my review, I will adjust that letter grade based on how many negative things I end up saying about it. This is a good example of a score that started higher, but kept getting lower and lower the more I thought about it. It could be that a C- might be more in line with the review I wrote, but I ultimately decided that it was very middle-of-the-road.

Maybe that's the point, his music is actually awful. Or he's so broken he can't make anything good. Man that is a lot of environment for just walking around. QOTD, Favorite ghost game would be metal gear solid 3: snake eater. The sorrow and all of snakes kills count as a ghost.
