it's not because the super etendard has more thrust, the etendard ivm just has a nerfed engine, above exactly 900 kmh, it starts losing around 30-40% of its thrust. go test it out with WTRTI. I've been trying to get gaijin to fix the flight model for ages now, but they dont seem to care. The etendard IVM has the same problem the F4C had around launch, where it was massivly nerfed in regards to top speed, because the engine lost all its thrust at high speeds. The IVM has above 5600 kgf og thrust at 900kmh, and it drops down below 3700 kgf at 1115 kmh. But gaijin doesn't really seem to care at all about that plane, so it actually amazes me they even brought in a new version of it...

@@-Sober- they have good vehicles(i have like a 3KD in the mirage 3 and thats in todays warthunder), but most of their vehicles are overtiered due to france players generally being better and getting their brs raised, them and britain are usually always on the "fuck you" side of gaijin lets not forget they are still missing the majority of their cold war light vehicle fleet in ground battles, and that the mirage F1 came about a year too late, sure the m2k was a great addition but it was a long time coming

Seeing it gets flare dispensers and targeting pods, this is a Standard 4 Super Etendard Modernisé from the late 90s. So it should definitely get Magic IIs and AS-30L, among other more modern loadouts. That, or remain the Frankenstein variant it is now, as many other planes out there.

It had AS-30Ls on the dev stream I believe, but for some reason they are gone now. They should definitely return. Magic 2s, idk about that. That would bump up the BR by at least one step, god forbid it goes to 10.7 even (I mean... the A-7E is there and that thing is just much worse A2A). I'd lose the magic 2s in order to stay at this low BR, most likely it will receive a bump to 10.3 already because Gaijin. But at 10.0 for CAS it can have basically SPAA immunity, being able to outrange all SPAA it faces quite easily. I feel Magic 2s would just downgrade its overal performance due to BR increase, not worth it.

I also feel a difference for some planes when it comes to extended flight duration. F-89D behaves very differently after 5min+ with SIM controls. It seems to gain more power, but it tends to pitch up more by itself without manual trimming.

The more power is due to less fuel. The pitch up is due to CoG changes due to loss of fuel too. Every aircraft goes through similar changes as they use more fuel. How each aircraft is specifically designed will determine how drastic the felt changes are.

it's just an etendard with magics and slightly higher top speed. The TRAM is a doodoofardig plane with broken missiles. Flares on the S. Etendard would be a neat touch. 124 mixed pops is generous.

I don’t know how I feel about it being 10.0. I know it’s subject to change but I’m pretty experienced in the Etendard, I think it might be my most played plane (and I have a lot of planes, probably like 80% of the planes across every tech tree) so I really don’t think this plane should be any higher than 9.7. Don’t get me wrong, Magics are good, but they’re not THAT good.

I absolutely would not want a decent plane like this to be 9.7 with 4 Paveways. They are most likely the reason why it comes in at 10.0 and I would even like it to be 10.7 for ground battle purposes. Getting matched into LGBs with just a cannon SPAA (IR missile SPAA starts at 9.3 at the lowest, some nations only get them at 9.7) is horrible and the A6E can already ruin entire matches.

@@dierare seems like the answer is for Gaijin to make different BRs for ground and air realistic battles like they do with arcade. I can tell you this thing would get absolutely stomped in air RB at 10.7. Just doesn’t have the weapons and flight performance. I’ve never played higher than 8.3 tanks so I wouldn’t know how this would perform but definitely way too high for Air RB.

@@macekeeks3085 Yeah but that thing doesn't get a targeting pod neither does it get any speed. As long as you have flares, A-10s really aren't dangerous. And the super etendard gets flares, lots of them even and the FM doesn't completely suck as much. I mean Magic 2s would bump it to 10.3 or even 10.7, compare it to the A-7E. 10.0 is a good BR for this things capabilites, 10.3 would still be okay, but I have the feeling it's already going to 10.3 as is because Gaijin hates France right. This still puts it below the ability to face toptier SAM, which gives it near immunity to SPAA. 10.7 and a whole new world of Pantsirs and what not all opens up.
