I mainly use it as a rusher. I throw on periodic flares, rush low, then loop around. I use the aim 9L in any head ons. Most radar locks end up hitting the periodic flares and that’s about it. The engine is not as hot that you can one flare most things. I wouldn’t furball with it but rather clean up furballs.

What Gaijin should have done is instead adding JA37D is give JA37C Aim-9L and countermeasures pods like it had and insted of adding JA37D give Sweden JAS39A Grippen (pre-seties) and limit it to aim-9L and bombs. Boom much better update for Sweden. Able to compete with Mig-29 and F-16 and not just copy and paste JA37C with its proper load out.

I tend to stay in props but I am a big fan of the Viggen. The early Swedish grind though is painful. Really the only jet I actually want is the F-8 Crusader, because it's probably my favorite, but even then I'm not in a super hurry to grind up to it. Good fighting, Merry Christmas!

for the radar I recommend setting the distance to 100km, the viggen can detect ppl from like 60km, and I have even gotten good radar locks within 50km+

Defyn, what is your take on what Gaijin did to the "New Boosters" hydraulic module for most tier 8 jets? Over 250km/h max aileron deflection speed lost without the boosters (vs about 70km/h for tier 7 jets). Its a pain for the stock grind since you really cant roll without the boosters.

@@einar8019 I don't know why some planes get screwed in the chaff and flares department. At the moment, I'm having a much better time in the harrier GR7, it gets access to 4 all aspect missiles, can still carry 5 1000 pound bombs (enough to level a base) and gets 360 chaff and flares, which at high tier is important due to the mass missile spam. Yet for some reason the tornado gets 70 C&F, which it has to carry in wing pods that add weight and drag. Apex predator my ***. Hopefully Gaijin will re balance it for many of the current planes getting the short stick.

Hey DEFYN, I'd like to suggest you to make some sort of a series of video, not very long ones, where you revisit older top-tier jets like MiG-23MLD, Mirage 2000, Phantoms, F-14 and a couple of other. I know, some of them (J-7E, F-14) got their own video not that much time ago, but nevertheless, I think the changes Apex Predators brought are quite big, not just new planes, but radar tweaks as well. And so we might need a new videos. If there's nothing to tell about, it can be a shortcut with a couple of words about the plane remaining good or being shit. Or it might be some sort of a compilation video with short parts about every.

Het probleem met War Thunder is dat de balans totaal zoek is en Gaijin alleen maar nieuwe voer/vliegtuigen toevoegd zonder de gameplay te verbeteren. Een beter uitgewerkte enduring confrontation in RB of SIM zou in mijn ogen al een hele verbetering zijn. Maar helaas, Gaijin zal steeds nieuwe voertuigen toevoegen die weer beter zijn dan de vorige update zodat iedereen investeren in het spel. Als je kijkt naar hoe het spel is opgebouwd lijkt dat bijna wel aanspraak te doen op iets van een gokverslaving. Met de lootboxes, de rp, SL waarbij je steeds een beetje krijgt.

The first f-16 ADF for america is not end of line and also more modifications at each modification tier, the cheaper they are as the RP cost is divided. JA37D has fewer and is end of line, hence why its so much

"fires pretty quickly" - sorry but that's a hard disagree for me. The viggen gun is like 1300rpm that's like less than 1/5 of the Vulcan and 1/3 of the gsh waterpistol. And it leaves huge gaps in sprays for enemies to fly through because of that.
