The Batman Arkhamverse is a dead horse now. They should end it anyway. SSKTJL destroyed the franchise but a lot of people prefer Arkham Knight as the canon ending because it was. Season 8 was just a cheap retcon for damage control and avoiding the haters. I don't care if Batman and Superman are alive - the damage was long done the moment it released last year, Rocksteady had taken their audiences for children with low attention spans. It was a dumb spinoff. Of course, there are a lot of people coping and wanting more Arkham games. I say let the franchise rest and let the devs make a different Batman game that has nothing to do with the Arkhamverse - it's done, leave it alone.

Most of the crew who worked for Rocksteady at the time the og Arkham Trilogy was made had long since left anyways. So of course anything Arkham related coming out now is a pale imitation anyways. Any passion for DC comics or Batman himself is long gone. It's all about the paycheck and pushing messages now.

@@DegenerateJay Based off of everything I've read about this games production, there's plenty of blame to go around whether it's Warner Bros forcing Rocksteady to make another super hero game when the developers were dealing with burn out, the developers having no prior experience in making a live service and decided to not consult anybody who did have experience about what to do. The team that wrote the story and decided to leave the reveal about the Justice League being alive hidden in DLC. There's just so many examples and if it wasn't for NDA's I'd love to see a documentary about this games development with interviews with various team members about everything that went so wrong.

Actually I posted a comment about this game on a community post and someone responded to me that I should try to give this game another chance even though I've never played it due to the poor handling of pretty much everything. I didn't really think about it at the time but that was probably one of the few people who loved this game. Before you ask I let them down as gently as possible telling them why I couldn't.

man, the only good uses of it i've seen in writing are the spider verse movies and the "better world" episodes in the old justice league show, followed by the cadmus storyline in justice league unlimited. but cadmus had hardly anything to do with the multiverse at all, it just happened as a result of the discovery of the multiverse. the multiverse can work, but lately, writers just use it for... too much.

I'm not against the multiverse overall, and generally I find the idea of alternative timelines interesting, but I do think that it's been way overused in comic stories, perhaps often used as a crutch to make easy stories.

I mean *Everything Everywhere all at Once* was highly regarded for its use on telling its multiverse story, Injustice 1 is practically a multiverse story going off of that JLU episode being mentioned, and Invincible's second season included the multiverse heavily around one of their major antagonists. Point is that the saying the multiverse is bad in general isn’t inherently true, but a couple modern stories either aren’t taking full advantage of the idea or they treat it as a tact on from their main story (like how this game can relatively be unchanged if they just made kept it on One Earth and just had their 13 Brainiacs be "clones" taking on different areas of Earth, or the universe).

Idk if you're aware, But he did work heavily on the Batman The Adventures Continue DCAU comics in recent years. Like the Hush mission in Arkham City relies on a lot of contrivances like Hush leaving bodies out in the open for Batman when he could’ve hid them in much better places like the sewers and Batman giving up on chasing Hush when it can take him like three minutes to catch up and catch him. So it’s my unpopular take that we’re better off with what we got in Knight.

Unlike a live service game, television series have to make sure that either the entire season or most of the season is done prior to the season premiere. Here’s my question: is Robin still dead? Technically, we don’t see a body, but the scene with his bloody mass on the ground definitely is supposed to imply he’s dead. Although I guess you could argue, maybe Robin was bleeding a lot and lost his mask, but managed to slip away from clone Batman. I mean, if this Batman can lose to four morons with some rusty old guns, something tells me the clone doesn’t quite live up to the original.

I don't care what Rocksteady says, I will never accept this game as my head canon. For me (and most likely majority of Arkham fans out there), this game never happened. I do think the devs; well at least the ones at the top, such as Rocksteady founders Sefton Hill & Jaime Walker, deserve to get the blame though? I mean people love to shift the blame towards WB with this matter, but at the end of the day, Hill & Walker both knew what the story of this game was gonna be, given it was done with their supervision. It's just that they jumped ship to form their company so remaining devs are left to take brunt of the blame. Honestly, even if this game had Suicide Squad collaborating with Justice League to fight alt universe villains like Justice Lords, I'm not even sure it would have sold as well, cause I just don't think people care about Suicide Squad all that much. Probably should have just made it a Justice League game instead I think. Well, at least it's put out of its misery now lol.

I think if the Justice League was just MIA and the game put forward obviously bizarro/mutated-clones Justice League as boss fights (you know, just be honest about them being clones from day 1) it would be much more acceptable. You don't even have to change the story that much, just change the dialogue a bit. You know, the Suicide Squad captures clone-Batman and interrogates him about TJL whereabouts, he lies, tells you Brainiac killed them, and in season pass finale you find out they're alive as you accidentally free them. Since bizarro Batman is allowed to lie, he can actually do plot twist part 1: "I am the real Batman" and then finale is plot twist part 2: bizarro Batman was lying.

Nah, there were telltale signs. Fake Flash regrowing his fingers, the Latnern ring acting all weird after Fake Lantern died (first it just allowed King Shark to use it, then it slipped away without looking for the next Green Lantern), Supes was immune to kryptonite. It all never made a lot of sense, but the marketing for the game insisted that "You're fighting the Justice League fr fr" so people took it for granted.

Even Wonder Woman's "death" doesn't have to be permanent. Sure, their universe's version of her is dead, but with the multi-verse now open to them as a deus ex machina, couldn't they just find a version of her who lost everything but survived and bring her to their Arkham World as a replacement? Not that it matters. I, like Jay, knew all along there wasn't a snowballs chance they'd let the JLA's death in it's entirety last. They knew they couldn't stand the backlash so of course they'd be forced to backpedal. Why do you think most of the management in charge of the early game production fled long before? Thankfully, this game isn't even real in my eyes. Just another "what not to do" model for a gaming IP. That's all. It's not cannon, it doesn't exist. I'm still waiting on a TRUE Arkham Knight sequel, thank you very much. And I'd like some Arkham pre/sequel games that fill in some timeline gaps between Origins and Asylum. This last, sad "nail in the coffin" for KTJL just confirmed that this game really was a lame joke from the Woke crowd. Another loss in their column.

Sadly it will still not be the same Wonder Woman from that earth that was familiar with that earths green lantern, Superman, Flash, Batman. Just cause another Wonder Woman exists doesn’t take away the history that Wonder Woman had with that league. Vice versa it’ll be a whole new league to even Wonder Woman and the Diana that was killed is permanent.

This is sort of the conundrum of a modern day developer within a renowned IP or a whole beloved franchise. You put out a trailer for your game and you tell people "In this game you will kill the Justice League". Naturally, people will start speculating, people will look back at the common comic book tropes and start guessing: you're fighting clones, you're fighting otherworld variants, you're not really killing the heroes. Whoever wrote the story will be angry that people figured it out way ahead of schedule, the studio will feel obligated to start lying and they will come out and say "No, this is the real deal, you're killing THE Justice League". This is how they fumbled the Arkham Knight plot twist and they fumbled the Suicide Squad plot twist. But what else could they do? If the fan theory spoils not even the game, but a whole season pass, how do you deal with that? Do you lie or do you come clean, do you keep quiet? And to all those @#$%!^@$% who said "Why you hatin', it's in the title? It's called KTJL, what did you think you was gonna do?": egg on your face. The title is a LIE and y'all were wrong.

To answer your question, no, I don't really care, but I would've at one point, so I guess it's almost nice to know now, which seems to be worth something considering I watched the video. I still take issue with a lot, though: One, like you mentioned, the audio tape where Batman agreed to board Brainiac's ship. Yeah, if Batman was concerned about the safety of such an action, he wouldn't just say "well this will turn out badly, but fine, whatever!" If he ultimately couldn't convince the other League members, he'd go into hiding and do what needs done from there, he's needed, he's not going to jump off a bridge even if all his friends will. It was just a lazy way to back up the plot, all they needed to do with those audio tapes was convince us the League was tricked, you can't tell me that's never been done before in other iterations, what excuse could they possibly have? It makes about as much sense as "Arkham City tried to murder all these mass murderers, so now we're legally obligated to grant all of them the only acceptable compensation, which is of course a full pardon along with mountains of cash, we'll just have to blindly trust that they don't do it again. You were incarcerated because your right to freedom posed a threat to our citizen's right to safety, but now that your safety was jeopardized, we're forced to grant your freedom even though you still pose a threat to safety, because laws" (My only real issue with Arkham Knight). Two, they killed off Robin. Sure, we only saw his bloody mask, but that was clearly intended as a symbol indicating his death (at the hands of Batman). The last time we saw him, one of the last times we saw anything in the Arkham games, he was on his honeymoon with Barb, then he just gets killed off screen, like he hasn't been underused enough in these games. The last game was literally about Batman overcoming his fear that he might get brain washed and kill his friends, it was meant to give him somewhat of a happy ending to his character that had done so much good, as if to say "You can rest now, you have nothing to fear, Gotham is finally safe" and then in the very next game, he gets brain washed into killing Robin, as if to add ", and also fuck you!" It's not a plothole in the traditional sense, there's no literal inconsistency, but there is a thematical inconsistency; they don't deserve this. And three, what was the point in all of this if you aren't going to stick with killing Batman? It's just a giant fake out? That's like if your favorite teacher tied you to a chair, wheeled your dad into the room, and shot him point blank in the head, then waited well after you've stopped crying to bring in your real dad, and say "Heh, just kidding, I'll see you Monday, David." And also your name isn't David, I've been awake too long, and Monday isn't a real color! They took a beloved character, gave him the most meaningless, disrespectful death, which is a very painful and bitter pill to swallow, then PLOT TWIST, he's fine! The end! I can't see the vision behind an intentional fake out, if that was their vision. It's like they went all in on shock value, yet somehow didn't expect we wouldn't be able to look away from his corpse.

There’s a chance he just got badly injured from his encounter with, now officially titled, Clone Batman and is currently under serious recovery from whoever is left. Unlike Wonder Woman we never see Robin's body, there’s just as high a chance he got hit back by Bats and dropped his mask as he left the cave. Though there isn’t anything to support this idea in game as he isn’t remotely involved in this game (his mask appearing is more than we can say for Nightwing, Oracle and Jason), so we'll just have to his fate in the next game (provided this game will still be canon by then).

In fact the city hospital wouldn't even be an option so he would have to escape outside the Dome. How would a super injured has to be hospitalized for 2 weeks Roblin get outside the dome by himself? 4. Clone Batman killed him and dispose of the body. Has the motive (clone Batman is mind control) means (is way more skilled than Roblin and has the resources to disposed the body) and opportunity (clone Batman had two weeks to get rid of the body and Roblin has little options of escape) It ok dude the fan base already sees the game as not cannon.

I think wb should probably contact A Hundred Star Games if possible to make an Arkam game called Redhood kills the suicide squad and use that game to change basicaly everything from suicide squad, making a plot twist to "revive" Arkam Tim Drake making so that he didn't die at all, make another plot twist reveling that the white deathshoot actually survive his fight with the new one and make him kill the new deathshoot in a rematch and ect ect. And the Game if actually done, should end with Redhood humiliating Arkam harley queen and rubbing it on her face everything that she done before killing her. I genuinely think that it would be the best action right now. It actually gives what the Arkam fans wanted for some time and kinda revanges all the disrespect to the justice league and the arkhamverse.

Ok, this seems to be my last chance to say this but I’ve had an idea of what they could’ve done if Rocksteady made a Justice League game, ideas about characters, gameplay, even a bit of story: Background info: Takes place 5 years after Arkham Knight, earlier the JLA reformed to stop a massive threat (which forced Batman back into the light again), the JLA was formed once before but disbanded shortly before Arkham Asylum, the playable League members are the same in SS but there will be references to other JLA members that just aren’t there. Story: My idea for the story is that the Justice League opens the Hall of Justice for the people to celebrate the League returning, but that same day there’s an invasion. The crime syndicate have invaded Earth 1, later after meeting Lex Luthor from Earth 3 we learn they are trying to build a bomb that could destroy an entire planet (I’m taking most of my ideas from JL animated movie). At the end after the League each defeats a member of the Syndicate, Owlman takes the bomb to a different Earth & Batman follows, so the final fight will be Batman vs Owlman. Characters: - Batman: He will have similar gameplay that was in Arkham Knight, free flow combat, predator, etc. the only thing I would change is his traversal, instead of gliding or driving the Batwing, he will have a jetpack that uses his cape for the wings so he can fly, this is so Batman can keep up with the rest of the League - Superman: He will have free flow combat too & his powers (heat vision, super breath, etc.) Superman will obviously fly but I he will have a health bar - Wonder Woman: Very similar to Batman, combat & all that, she will also be able to fly as well - Green Lantern: GL can use his ring for basically all his moves for combat, traversal, & he’s the only character that can generate a shield - Flash: He will be the fastest character but also the only character that can’t fly, so he will use his speed to jump across buildings & large distances Enemies: The bosses of the game will be the Crime Syndicate, each member will mirror a League member, and the goons in the map will each have a power belonging to a random DC character (Black Canary’s scream, Flash’s speed, etc.) that way characters that are usually invincible *cough* Superman *cough* can take damage, and this will be a threat only the Justice League can stop Sorry if it was a bit long, I’ve just had this on my mind for a while now, and the reason I’m making it so the JLA was formed once before is so if this game had been made we could’ve gotten another game where the JLA first forms to stop Starro

Dev blaming is so sad because usually they're used as the face of the game/product but, most of the times for AAA games, they're just a PR speaker. Shareholders and management will ALWAYS have final say and it's surprisingly common to have people that have absolutely no idea how to make a fun game end up in management positions. People that either got a game to make a fuck ton of money through use of exploitative strategies or followed a market trend. To answer your question, no I do care that Batman is back. I do not care that the evil Justice League were clones and I do not about any games that takes place after KTJL. No amount of backtracking will fix how dogshit this game already. Batman is already character assassinated by coming out of hiding after Arkham Knight, the Suicide Squad (not to be confused with the Squad from Assault on Arkham who are arguably way better) are awful characters after they done stuff like putting bombs into kids and Wonder Woman, Earth 1 Lex Luthor and Robin are still dead. This game has the worst story I’ve ever seen in fiction and nothing can remedy that. I honestly don’t think this game had any good ideas in paper and the Suicide Squad probably aren’t good enough to even carry their own game. If they really wanted an evil Justice League game, I would’ve done two options. One is a Teen Titans vs Justice League game that isn’t set in the Arkhamverse. It would be about the young heroes facing impossible odds in saving their mentors. Two is make an actual sequel to Arkham Knight, but it’s about Batman emerging from the shadows to save the mind controlled Justice League. It would be called Justice League: Doom and I know it’s not original, but it fits since it’s Batman using contingency plans against the League. Also, either option would have Starro or Despero as the villain. Brainiac doesn’t really work as the mind control guy outside of Lego Batman 3 and that one episode of Superman: TAS. As for the Arkhamverse right now, I would only be excited for a game set between Origins and Asylum involving the Bat Family. Otherwise, they should just leave this universe behind.

What makes me sad is that even though Batman is alive, the Arkham batman is essentially still gone, because without Kevin Conroy, it's just not gonna be the same, and the fact Kevin's last lines in the Arkhamverse was getting shot in the head (I know they didn't intend for that, just saying they really shouldn't have made this story in the first place, this was just a bullet to the foot with what happened). Since we never got to hear Kevin voice Batman's return, the Batman we know and love died on the bench and he's never coming back.

Heck, I would love it if there was a “choose your own adventure” style narrative, where the boss fights play out where the good and the bad version of a league member fight, and you get to choose in real time who you want to support Do you want to bring kryptonite to the fight between Ultraman and Superman to help the crime syndicate (since kryptonite actually makes Ultraman stronger) or will you bring solar light guns to weekend Ultraman and make Superman stronger?

I had a hunch they were gonna pull this trick...kill the heroes for the as you said it shock value...but then expected people to actually stick around, buy ALL the season pass stuff play more of the exact same game using DLC characters that all again play exactly the same only to get to the end and learn...ta dah see none of your heroes are dead! Now you can stop being mad at us...this entire game was a mastercraft on what NOT to do game mechanic wise (another hero shooter in the sea of hero shooters) and writing wise (killing off favourite heroes, expecting the player to STILL stick around after doing so and only then can they learn everything got taken back)
