Degrassi Junior High 312 - Taking Off, Pt. 2 | HD | Full Episode
Still trying to come to terms with his adoptive parents' death, Wheels runs away to be with his biological father, who has sent him a postcard. When he arrives, however, he receives a cool welcome. Meanwhile, Luke and Shane take LSD at a concert and Luke is later found unconscious beneath a bridge.
The third season of Degrassi Junior High premiered on November 7, 1988 with 16 episodes. It depicts the 1988-1989 school year.
Light, funny and poignant, DEGRASSI JUNIOR HIGH is a series with strong family appeal. Set in an inner-city neighbourhood on its way up, the series is a street-wise look at what really goes on in the kid-adult world of junior high school. With entertaining and provocative stories, DEGRASSI JUNIOR HIGH is designed to help kids feel good about themselves and make more informed choices.

I always feel so bad for wheels grandma. She loses her daughter , and then has to become a parent of a teenaged boy who doesn't help at all or even make it somewhat easy on her. She tries so hard to do right by him, and he couldn't care less.

Mike really surprised me in this episode. Because in earlier seasons he acted like he wanted wheels in his life, and now it seems like he doesn’t want anything to do with him can’t even stand the sight of him it seems like.

Armin Even if he didn’t he still shouldn’t act like that he doesn’t want his son in his life pregnant girlfriend or not that’s still his kid in a way. You can’t be one way with wanting to see your adopted child and then not wanting anything to do with him from the time you see him again. If that was the case then he should’ve been straightforward with them and told him that he can’t stay there instead of telling him that he could stay there for the day. You can tell he doesn’t want him there

Pink- Trying to control Wheels is what's draining her energy. She should just back off, and let him be himself and make his own mistakes. If he flunks and has to take the grade over, then so be it. If he won't wash dishes, he can use his own money to buy paper plates for himself. If she doesn't want to cook for him, let him get a job and buy his own food. He doesn't need to be treated like an incompetent child.

Mike should have said. "Your place is at School, with your Grandparents and to get an Education and hopefully go to University, do all of the things I didn't think was important but I'd give anything to do, my life isn't glamorous living outside a Suitcase not having a Real Home." It would have been awful if Josh had said about Wheels Bass Playing and say " Oh a Regular James Jamerson Motown Funk Brother and The Greatest Bass Player Of All Time.

I watched this as a kid when it first aired. Watching it again now, everything about Wheels’ experience at that hotel in Port Hope seems just as desolate and depressing. Yes and he is a liar and an immature man.Wheels is young and at 15 he needs a father especially since his parents died.He believes that his father will love him at last after the postcard.Mike should never have sent him a card and let him know he was around.I can relate to this situation too because i saw my biological father at 14 and spent 3 weeks with him and his companion but he never looked after me and my sister and let us with a woman we didn't know and later we found out that she wouldn't have liked to share her holidays with 2 girls who were the daughters of her man.She actually was jealous of my mother and when my father died she did everything to deprive us of our rights and this broke my heart so much that i had a nervous breakdown.She told awful things about me and my mother saying she was a whore and i was only interested in my father's money which is false.So i think that sometimes the father should stay away and LET HIS KIDS ALONE.Plus my father wanted to see us before his death but he blamed me not to love him..He never told he was sorry for being absent for 30 years..

Luke is very narccisistic. He doesn't take responsibility for what he did to Shane. After all it wasn't his fault that Shane "Lent" him Money, he could have said "No!", he didn't have to take the Acid, even though Luke reassured him he'd be all right, and it wasn't his fault that he lied to Spike about the Child Support Payments. Kunai Senpai LOL you’re acting like I’m hating on Spike. She’s actually one of my favourite characters. Spike was just very indecisive about whether or not she wanted Shane in her and Emma’s life. She always complained to him about needing to take care of the baby, yet almost always rejected Shane whenever he tried to help out. (Like with the Christmas episode, she allowed him to hold Emma). So you tell me, how was I trying to throw Spike under the bus for what Shane did? Did I say it was Spike’s fault. Oh. Nice trying to antagonize me though. :)

It's ironic. Mike gave up his Parental rights and Wheels comes back into his life. On The Soap Opera Guiding Light Harley Cooper & Dylan Lewis give up their rights to their daughter, her Adoptive Parents die and she can be part of their lives again. Thank God they were able to take her back, she could have fallen between the cracks in The Foster Care System.

Yes but there's nothing they can do because most of them don't even "Own" The Group's Name. Motown was notorious for that. The Supremes (Sans Diana Ross) The Miracles, The Temptations found that out the hard way. Even when The Jackson Five left Motown in 1975 they were told that they couldn't use the name because their 1968 Contract stipulated that if they went "Left" Motown, they gave up their rights to The Group's Name.

@kima_95

That wasn't actual child support, its better to keep that in mind. He was giving her half of his full allowance, out of his own will over a long period of time. No made him and he wasn't legal obligated to, so its unfair to say he was bad for not paying child support ONE time after he'd bee paying her for a fairly long amount of time. Granted it sucked he lied about the reason he couldn't give her the money, but at the end of the day he doesn't have to. Just that one time he wanted to have some time for him, which of course he usually does since Spike doesn't give him the proper opportunity to be a parent, but still. Everyone needs a break in life, which I think he had earned by choosing to take financial responsibility every time when he isn't even allowed to see or interact with his child. If anything Spike should have been thankful he wanted to, since there are a lot of deadbeat fathers in the world. And I think you shouldn't praise Spike's character too much in this situation. He's got his faults in this, but he's been treated very unfairly too and verbally harnessed or belittled when he tries to do right by his child instead of choosing to be a selfish person. Which would have been very easy for him since his parents are always trying to send him away and no one actually holds him accountable but instead they just expect it and chose not to praise him for not breaking his promise to be responsible father figure. I don't even like that guy all that much, but its really unfair to pick and take a side without considering his efforts. Anyway, sorry for the long message. I just care a lot about this storyline because I actually do have a deadbeat father.
@moqueen99
@moqueen99 7 жыл бұрын
K I totally understand where you're coming from and yes Spike has to take responsibility somewhere in all of this. But I still feel like he could have handled that in a completely different way. Actually he could have handled the whole entire situation differently. They both can. They're both held accountable. I feel like their main issue is communication. Spike doesn't believe that he truly cares and wants to help. Even though he does, but he's just a kid so he makes selfish decisions sometimes and I get why she'd be angry with that because she has to grow up and she has to take care of the baby while he has a choice in all of this while she doesn't. If their communication was better I feel like things would be different. But then again I have to think about the reason their communication is nasty in the first place because of outside forces like his parents

Well, she does have a choice in a way. She could have gave Emma up for adoption, but this was the life she chose. Still, I get what you mean. No matter if she kept her or gave her away, she still gets the short end of the stick since people are likely to treat her more as an adult or in a rough manner since she got pregnant when in reality she's still just a kid like him. I do agree with the communication part, that's always the problems in these shows but its forced anyway so usually I try not to get emotional. But then again, like I said I was born and raised from a similar situation so I took it personal. I'm glad you relied and I had the chance to read your thoughts, they show me that you understand the characters which I was worried people didn't. Sorry again if I sounded a little defensive, I'm not saying you were wrong in any way. I just think people should have some perspective, which you do I now know. :)

If he would have just told the police they took acid together when they asked he might not feel so guilty.
