We use 2 definitions of the degree of curve. One is railroad or chord definition: The included angle between the radii of a 100-foot chord which is sin 1/2 D(c) = 50/R. D is in degrees R is in feet and hundredths of a foot. This was done because in surveying the stations are 100 feet apart and it is hard to measure a tape or chain around an arc. The other is highway or arc definition. The included angle between the radii of a 100-foot arc which is D(a)/100 = 360*/2piR or D(a) = 5729.58/R R is in feet and hundredths of a foot. Our arc definition is very close to the metric one but is exact, it has not been rounded. With small Ds, say under 3*, they will stake on the ground the same.

Can u please reply me why the maximum degree of curvature for broad gauge is 10 degree and for meter gauge is 16 degree...??? What is the logic behind keep the degree of curvature less in Broad gauge ??? Please help me

@@Digitecheducation first of all thanks for the reply...k to avoid derailment..but im confuse as to why giving less degree in B.G will avoid derailment???
@p.singson39103 жыл бұрын
@@kc5881 The lesser the degree or the more the radius, the straighter the track. For BG, coaches and engines are heavier and faster. Therefore, straighter track which has bigger radius of curvature or lesser degree curves are desirable to avoid derailment of trains due to the train's own centrifugal force while negotiating curves. Hence, the reason.

Can you please tell me minimum curve for toy train in park
@Digitecheducation4 жыл бұрын
What are the dimensions of park and how long train will run their
@sheetalkalbandhe55994 жыл бұрын
It will run on periphery it’s a toy train basically in a museum so can you please tell me what can be the track width and it’s min safe curve dimension
@Digitecheducation4 жыл бұрын
their is no any hard and fast rule for small track it is all upto space allocated for train but try to keep track circular in nature to avoid toppling
@sheetalkalbandhe55994 жыл бұрын
So please suggest me safe curve dimensions for it of course I can’t turn the track I want there must be any parameters for it too

What is the smallest radius the park train can reasonably negotiate or travel around on the track? We say "operate". Whatever that number is, use no less than 1.5 times that number but better to use 2 times that number for the track radius if there is to be a lot of traffic or trips by the train. Why? Because all track moves and changes under traffic and with use making the curves either sharper in places or less in others. These sharper places are called kinks and they give a jerky ride not to mention that they can cause derailments. The sharper the curve a train operates on the more wear the rails and equipment get during operation besides increasing friction and needing more power to negotiate the curve. I have seen this situation several times and maintenance costs go up because of this. Lay the track as straight as possible in the tangents and smooth curves where needed with the rails level with each other on the tangents and the outer rail not below the inner rail on the curves. Don't run the train over 10 kph, it will feel like a lot more than that on the train. Preferably, stay under 5 to 7 kph speed.

D/30=360/2πR Now please tell me that why we divide 360 on 2 πR. please in detail.
@rrravidcoolest2 жыл бұрын
The circumference of a circle (2 pi r) subtends an angle of 360 degree at the centre. So 1 circumference of circle will subtends and angle = 360 degree/ (2 pi r)
