DEH-P8600MP Testing

I had this headunit in my first car. Amazing looking and amazing sound and settings. Settings are so in depth it’s exactly what you need. I blew the pre amp sub out. Managed to get hold of another in mint condition. I blu the pre sub out on that too. Don’t ask. Gave the first headunit to my sister as she had no sub. I sold the car with the second still in. Tried to find another for the car I’ve got now but no joy. Just bought the deh-x9600bt. I hope it’s as good as this was

how do you turn it off lol just bought one cant dirgure it out to hook up the aux

Most all the old Pioneer radios turn off by holding the SRC button. It will then activate DEMO mode but you can turn that off by turning off then holding FUNC to bring up setup menu. Then push FUNC to go through the different settings until you get to DEMONSTRATION and press up/down button to turn off.

To turn on the AUX input, turn off unit by holding SRC and then hold FUNC. Once the setup menu appears press FUNC until you get to AUX. Press UP/DOWN button to turn on. Then press SRC to turn radio back on. Press SRC again and the AUX option should be there now.

any advice on why none of the buttons illuminate on my 8600? the light under the cd slot works but the lights on the faceplate dont work

With the radio on, I would apply pressure around the radio to see if anything changes. If not, then unplug it and check the metal contacts on the back of the faceplate and on the mounting bracket for the face. After that maybe inspect the ribbon for any cracks or tears. After that, opening up the faceplate to check for any burnt traces or damage on the circuit board. If you have an extra faceplate handy, that would help to eliminate the problems from any connectors and indicate something inside the faceplate is wrong.

I have this radio, but it came with no rca harness, I found them on eBay but my questions are can I add a Bluetooth to it or a usb and or a aux?

hello I have a question I would like to connect and check the deh p8600mp radio and could I have a photo of the cube and connection?

To turn on the radio, I have the red and yellow wires connected to the positive on the battery. The black wire is connected to the negative on the battery. I use quick diconnects for this specific battery. Then you have to push the SRC button to turn it on.

Bro how do you use the Aux input? I can’t find it. I find this radio today in a car at Pick & Pull.

You probably have to activate it. Do you have the adapter for the BUS connector in the back? Once you have that, power down by holding the SRC button. Then I think you press the left knob in and hold until a menu pops up. Go to the right until you get the AUX section. Then push the left knob in again to turn it on. I'll probably make a follow up video using a bluetooth adaptor. I also show how to turn on the AUX source in my "Adding Bluetooth to DEH-P8400MP" video.

@@RadiOG58 I turned it off and held the volume button & turned it on. Still nothing and I brought Aux cables at Best Buy and hooked it to my rca inputs and still nothing.

@@BornToCreateContent there's the rear IP-BUS connector for sure. The AUX port under the faceplate is only mentioned in the manual when using a microphone for the Auto EQ function. It might be the mini AUX size and it might not actually work as an AUX port. I've never tested it before.
