Coach Prime has a special relationship with Travis. There’s a clip of them gameday at JSU where coach is mentoring Travis on the field and turns to walk away and Travis taps Prime on the shoulder, pulls him back, and gives him a huge embrace (as if to say, “thank you coach”). One of my favorite college football moments of last season!

I respect primes answer. You can’t blame him. If you had a trash car given to you, and it wasn’t worth fixing it, and would take way to much time for a outcome that still isn’t that great, then you buy a NEW car. These kids came to CSU, they wanted to be there. They would of went anywhere prime went. He’s a legend and this is just the respect everyone has for him showing. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Travis is basically Coach Prime’s adopted 4th son. He & the Sanders family are literally like this 🤞. People who didn’t watch Coach Prime & Travis at JSU are playing catch up. They have a bond that can’t be broken over a dollar amount. Yes Coach Prime has a gold jacket, but his charisma & ability to relate to players on a level deeper than football is part of his success and why he’s so unique as a coach. How many other college coaches can get former pro players to come speak to players at a school that’s not their alma mater? The fact that guys like Warren Sapp & Tyreek Hill have publicly stated Coach Prime is a huge inspiration for them wanting to get into coaching says it all. No other coach in college has his reach.

@Bob Wallace - I agree with you. No one outside of Pittsburgh or fanatical college football fans know who Coach Narduzzi is or even care. It is my opinion that the world today love and hate people who have made the decision to win consistently. I think there are awesome players who are very successful at the college level but who struggle with NFL style football. I say let them stay for 10 years and pay them for the millions/billions they bring to the school. The first 2 who come to mind are Tim Tebow and Johnny Football.

The NIL is not new, it's just finally acknowledged. I know from experiences of close friends and teammates that the big schools have always slipped money under the table, and no I won't name names. Maybe not millions, but paying players even if illegal has been happening for a long time. From new cars to alumni slipping dollars into kid's pockets, College football hasn't been purely amateur in a long time.

Travis came out in his uniform tried to go back out there and prime said what are doing what did I tell you!? He put his arm around him said you did enough today I’m proud of you. What you need to do is listen to what I said take that stuff off and be a leader on the sideline. Travis cried gave him a hug and did just that.

I think you have to know what’s most important to Travis. If having someone show you they love you is something you have needed then you get it you aren’t willing to give that up. Coach Prime isn’t treating Travis like a commodity that can get him wins for a team. He treats him like a son and looks out for him. I’m sure that’s not the norm in college football. Narduzzi probably mad at the coach that took his star player but it was easier to deflect that to Coach Prime. It makes it worse that no team was able to lure Travis from Coach Prime with a bag. I feel fairly certain when the offer came through, Travis told Coach Prime who made the offer and the amount. Since Coach Prime wasn’t his coach at the time he could talk to him about the offer because he was in the portal and Coach Prime was already committed to CU. Travis has NIL deals so he isn’t broke. He lives off campus with his girl and is probably happy and peaceful. Who selling that? I’m happy for him because on his channel he looks like he’s living his best life.

The "new reality" is what should have been the reality. Coaches and schools are now getting uncovered of all the under the table deals that made schools and coaches lots of recognition and money with the "you're getting a quality education in exchange lie". I say lie because of the withholding of the money they make off these players. Travis proved that everyone will take the money, so the offers are not ruining college sports. College students who are not athletes do this all the time. They go to the school that is most affordable or who has the best scholarships sometimes it's even based on accommodations and location of where they may want to eventually work. This NIL thing didn't become a big deal until folks realizes these Black players could get the long-awaited opportunity to generate wealth, generational wealth. The same wealth these schools and coaches have been making off their backs for decades.

NIL hasn’t ruined CFB. Boosters have been paying players for decades. The biggest change is that kids don’t have to sit out a year when they transfer anymore. The whole point of that rule was to discourage tampering and player movement. Without it you would’ve seen players moving schools like crazy in every other era too. I don’t have a problem with it. If you don’t want kids leaving your program, build a better culture. Travis Hunter could’ve cashed in but he chose relationships over money and I bet there’s thousands of kids just like him.
