This speech has motivated me to go back to school to get my masters in my profession. My profession has nothing to do with football...I'm a nurse. I've been procrastinating because I have ADD and didn't think I could do on line classes. Oh, and I'm 50 years old but I'm coming to be the best I can. I hope to one day be motivational not like Deon, but like me by way of Deon. This man is simply a BLESSING.

@Cory Costa I suppose I was raised with it and always believed but as a young man I was pretty casual with my faith. A few years ago I made a conscious decision to get closer to God and can say, since I put God in charge I’m more confident that it’s real. I meet other Christians and that enforces my belief as well. We’re living in unstable times and I like having my faith, it gives me hope.

It's very obvious just watching this man nowadays that he isn't the same man he was as a player. He's changed. For the good too. I see a lot of humility in him. If I were a young guy like these kids I'd be honored to play for a coach like him.

And I would add there is nothing wrong with acknowledging your greatness when you factually are that guy. The greatest CB and talented enough ball player to play MLB. The only guy to hit a HR in a MLB game and score a TD in a NFL game in the same week. GOAT player and well on his way to being a GOAT coach.

Coach Prime, I've been a die hard Philadelphia ML Sports fan (all sports) since the '60's. I'm only a couple years older than you. I "grew up" with you, watching you play FB and BB, always loved you and respected you, regardless of the jersey you wore, bc of your spirit, grace and poetry in motion on the field. I live in Arkansas now and was so thrilled when you came to JSU bc it's so close. I have followed what you've accomplished at JSU, read articles about your challenges and successes there. Now, I've listened to you speak at this PC and also your first mtg with the team...I am even more blown away by you, your words, your spirit, your passion, your vision, your humanity. I just gotta say, I love you, Coach Prime. I think you are a wonderful human being and I have a tremendous respect for you. May Hashem continue to Bless You, Deion! And I pray that you are successful in turning around the lives of these young men and all those you touch at CSU and in the community. I hope that I might be blessed to meet you some day. Amen!

@Mary Dascalos No offense Ms. Mary but that's not all the way true. You have to have a mental strength that surpass your physical strength and your talent. Because just amazingly talented as you are and as strong and fast as you are their is always someone with more talent or who is bigger , stronger and faster. And at this level of the game almost the NFL these young man are taking a beating out their on the field. Some teams have a very weak roster so they may need you the entire game. By the end of the game if you don't have the mental strength to keep fighting until that last whistle is blown and the game clock is at 0:00 your talent is no good if you are mentally weak, if you can not finish the game

Talk to him about what you've been through(He already knows) and ask Him to help you to overcome your life's troubles. Then get up and begin a new outlook on life and what you would like to achieve. And ask Him to help you every step of the way. Get to work to accomplish what you will!

brother, if you feel this video is a conviction THEN DO IT! Make your way over to Colorado. If you're willing to do the work to be mentored by this man, then don't let anything convince you otherwise. Don't let your present setbacks or failings hold you back. This video might be what you've been hoping for. I'm sure that with your tenacity you will be recognized by him to give you a chance to prove yourself. You're not angling for clout, you're not fan-boying. I pray you have the courage to do the right thing, to do right by you, and by all the people (that you don't even know yet) that are counting on you. Go win bro!

@Mary Smith @OneBlazinReview Simpler put, talk to Jesus in your heart for clarity and advice, same as Deion does. Deion's strength comes God, faith, and hard work. Sounds hooky if you're not a believer. Try it if you've never tried. If it doesn't work for you no harm no foul. Many people lose faith because of some church incident that turned them off or someone in the pulpit who was foul. Humans aren't perfect. We don't always get things right. God is Supreme. Talk to Him directly, in your heart. He listens, guides, strengthens. So do mature, focused Christians - Coach Prime is one of them. Imposters are out there as well, so there's that in life to piss people off. Blessings to you. May you connect with mature, focused, strengthening Christians and your life start mellowing out. More importantly may you come to know God for yourself, everyone else is a middleman.

Wow, Coach Prime Time Sanders. What a motivator. I am almost 60, knees and other items don't allow me to run or even get bumped or hit. The last time I tried out for football was when I was eleven, I was the tallest among those who got cut. Haven't given a remote or tiny thought of playing football since, the time of day. I was a bookworm who went on to practice dentistry. I tell you I am motivated so much so that if I was a young athletic talented football player I would want to join Coach Prime Time and Colorado. Coach Prime is inspiring and doesn't apologize for what God has given him. He is motivating me to step up my personal responsibility game. I pray that he is successful and that the HBCU world will be greatly enhanced not just for JSU, but for places like my shcool, Howard University (College of Dentistry). God Bless Him, and his attempts and efforts to improve race relations and dispel the myth that Blacks cannot succeed due to the "white man." or that no one will give us a chance. You have to make your own way. Don't learn that the hard way like I sometimes took. No excuses, God has given us all the tools to be successful no matter what age we are or our race. Coach Gary Barnett left my undergrad, Northwestern University, over 20+ years at the height of our most successful and only run to the Rose Bowl to take over at The University of Colorado. We have not been back since. He too was a great motivator. Now Colorado will have another even more energetic, charismatic, and determined leader to lead them to victory. I didn't like Colorado 25 years ago because they took our extremely popular Coach Barnett. Now I am a new Colorado Buffalo fan and am excited about the future of College Football and also HBCUs because of the doors and opportunities he is going to open up that would have taken years to pry open. We should support his efforts which will help this country heal from all of the racial divisions real and imagined in this country. God Bless HIm and the new team at Colorado. J. L. H.

man this was great! i love everything about this and I love how hes not playing games and telling it like it is at at time when kids are way too sissified by society. Good stuff!

It's crazy to me that he has the drive and motivation to do this. He's a hall of fame player, he was a super well paid analyst at CBS for years and then NFL network. He could have coasted, and he rolled up his sleeves and took on huge projects at JSU and now Colorado. His self-drive is unbelievable. How many HOF players do what he's doing? Super impressed with what he's been doing

@theaveragegatsby I agree!! He really is a positive influence for everyone!! I've heard many of his teammates say that he's the best teammate they ever had & I I think it might have been one of the Manning's ( I can't remember exactly) describe him as a friend by saying he's the type of friend that wants to sit on the front porch out in the country drink lemonade & talk to you about how your life is doing!! He's a hell of a man!!

Coach Prime gave us one of the most inspirational speeches about what it takes to win football games and how we can all succeed in life. We all need to 'believe in ourselves' to build confidence, execute actions, and experience success. I believe Coach Prime will succeed in everything he does at CU's football program. There's no better man for this job.

@Cody Purtlebaugh I can agree with that. It also takes luck (avoiding injuries), and you also have to be slightly crazy. It’s an incredibly violent game
Cody Purtlebaugh3 ай бұрын
@Rob R prime? you’re tripping. when you have that much love for the game and that much care to win, you’ll always be a valuable coach. especially when you know how to run a team. he knows how to get a team behind him and make them go fight. that’s the biggest part of sports, heart. if you go out there with the intent to win and you leave it all out on the line, win or lose you’re gaining and improving. that’s what prime makes you do. a coach who doesn’t take shit along with caring and loving the game, is a very scary coach.
Cody Purtlebaugh3 ай бұрын
@Oliver Truman Jr well you better get some passion about winning or you’re out. you don’t have to the love the game the most but if you want to succeed at any level you gotta put the work in and more. you gotta study the game, you gotta be an active listener, it can’t just go in one and out the other. so sure, it may be business for some, but you better take that business serious.

@Hayward how do you know that ? What other big schools gave him an opportunity? This is the exact thing that he has to face is people doubting him and not looking at what he has done. The difference between him and other coaches is his track record and not only that his connections. He comes with NFL connections which mean NFL lessons and people being on campus that normally wouldn’t be there because of CP. As he said, he has those players that he want coming with him and bets to believe they not coming to play.
