Samuel Robert Richard Sherman matched Deions stats in there first six seasons
@samuelrobert40837 жыл бұрын
Revis' 2009 season is better than any season Sherman ever had, the best single season for a corner is Champ Bailey's 2006 season where he of the 35 passes thrown his way only 4 were caught, 10 were intercepted and 31 were deflected. Sherman is far from Revis and Bailey, he has 2 all-pro safeties helping him and a great pass rush.
@bigjjohnson217 жыл бұрын
Stats don't tell the whole story.. because coaches feared throwing near prime time.. obviously his stats take a hit because of that. But that makes him the goat because he shuts down an entire side of the field... no other corner can make that claim.

LOL! What complete and utter bullshit! Don't know where that stupid rumur started but if you would like to read the true breakdown of thier matchup, here it is: www.quora.com/Great-Athlete-Debates-Who-won-the-matchup-between-Deion-Sanders-and-Jerry-Rice Bottomline, vs teams that featured Sanders in their defensive backfield, (Atlanta and Dallas) Rice had 26 career TDS. Thats a LOT! Even for Jerry. Before you start with all of the butthurt whining of, "But Sanders wasn't covering Rice one on one" If you know anything about football, you know it is a team sport. If your team gets beat, YOU get beat. You also know that no team EVER covered Jerry one on one. To do so would be committing suicide. So please, miss me with all of the "1 TD in 20 matchups" bullshit. But this is no slight on the greatest corner to ever play, NO ONE EVER covered Rice one on one. No one!

Totally agree. Not only would they not throw to his side of the field, they would have to game plan on not punting to him AND God forbid he came out and lined up on offense. If he came out at WR, he was automatically drawing a double team. That meant that players like Andre Rison, Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Michael Irvin, and Raghib Ismael were being covered one-on-one. Pick your poison.
@mattheweberly1233 жыл бұрын
I agree. So many people call him the greatest athlete ever, then leave him outside the Top 5 all-time NFL players. And NFL Network once put him at Number 34 all time.
@JClaus12212 жыл бұрын
Greatest cover corner ever, and he understood his limitations, he didn't have the physique to take the body shots of taking down running backs on the corner constantly. He could do it, but his body wasn't built for it. Don't care what track speed anyone had, on a football field in pads, no one was ever faster. His extra gear was just unreal, and you rarely ever saw it. His rundown of Beebe having to reverse direction and making up 5 yards like it was nothing. His running clear across the field from the other sideline on numerous occasions to run down extremely fast players, and making it look easy. It was truly like he never touched the ground when he ran when you saw him in person. And he made the other players look like they were moving in slow motion, it was amazing to witness.
