Staying "true to you" isn't anywhere in God's word. Picking up our cross and denying ourselves is.... Not loving the world and the things of the world is... Providing no room for our flesh is...

God wants you to be who you are. Being true to who you are is not masking and pretending to be perfect. Walk in who you are right now where you are in the season you are in. Don’t try to be like those around you! It’s religious to say staying “true to you” isn’t in the Bible! Walk in the identity of who you are minus the influence of the cultural traditional society norms etc. who are you outside of the things that conceal your true self! In order to to understand what he is saying you have to go through a transformation with Christ! You have to surrender your will and let go complete so God can reveal who you are at the core!

I hear what you're saying, and I don't completely disagree. But when you have pastor after pastor divorcing their wives and remarrying, "Christian" female musicians dressing immodestly by standards of just 20 years ago, coarse and vulgar language not just tolerated but defended, pastors partying with the world...why are we surprised when we hear of hidden sin in pastors when we tourn blind eyes to their worldliness, unbiblically believing we "can't judge." We're not to judge motives, but we are to judge with right judgment: Jesus tells us we'll know a tree by its fruit. Not everyone should be in leadership. I'm not just talking about Deidrick, but the people he surrounds himself with. I love CBN, but they threw Deidrick a softball here in asking about how he "stayed true to himself1'. We find our lives by losing them in Christ. We live by putting our flesh to death. The emphasis can never be on staying true to ourselves. We only really discover who God's made us to be when we fully submit to Him. That's a completely different emphasis, and emphasis really is everything.

Son the Word says “in spirit and in truth.” The question is “whose truth?” Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is in HIS truth that we live and seek. Disappointed that the interviewer did not press him on this. We are in a season where we are trying to fit God into our way of living instead of living according to will outlined in His word. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Instead of talking about people in the comments, Pray for them. This man's life is on display, let's see how many bones you have in your closet. Honestly ask yourself do you believe you are perfect and Holy enough as a person if God was to Judge you as you read this?

There are specific scriptures that describe how to handle your sister or brother in Christ in various situations. So let us examine our selves before helping one another! Put your own motives and the spirit behind what you want to say on trial up against scripture, vigorously, before expressing it! This way you will bring glory to our Father and line up with His will... ❤🙏🏾🕊🔥

Its not about the things that we do for God but the life that we live that reflects the kingdom not the life that looks like the world. Not all who say Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom but those who do the will of God not ours. Let's make a difference by dying to self and to live the life of Christ, let Christ be our role model not worldly people. God bless.

He just twisted the scriptures and yall just bat an eye, like nothing was wrong. You didn’t even correct him! His interpretation of that verse is found NOWHERE in the Bible. You are called to deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow Jesus. Nowhere does it say “be true to you” Worshipping in spirit and in truth has to do with GOD, not us. Anything in us that doesn’t align with God’s truth, must be laid at the feet of Christ. We must submit everything in regard to ourselves to Jesus. This means the part of yourselves that you’ve gotten use to, that don’t align with biblical truth. This man is deceiving and being deceived.
@jareya
@jareya 6 ай бұрын
I believe what he was referring to is the need to worship God in honesty, genuineness and sincerity of heart. Of course this also means repentance and alignment with the word of God but it starts from a place of laying yourself bare before the Lord and being truthful with Him. I believe that’s what he was referring to.

@@jareyaYes...but it doesn't stop at confessing our flaws and ways of being that do not align with His word. What is acceptable (reasonable act of) worship is being transformed by renewing our minds. Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? I have been as defensive as Deitrick is being about how he thinks he is being perceived. Allowing God's truth to transform my mind has changed my perspective and I have not lost who I am.
@cantrelle7742
@cantrelle7742 6 ай бұрын
He didn't need to use scripture to back up his perspective, I agree with his misinterpretation, but I also agree that we should live in our truth. We have a sense that when we become believers that we physically change no we change spiritually and mentally but we are still working out salvation and unfortunately that calls for a infinite effort!

I see some of the younger people dress differently. I am 67. I dont always wear suits, dresses, or skirts. But I dress appropriately. The young men who are dressing differently are NOT on the pulpit. Always a robe or suit. Seens like he us following the culture of the youth. He should ask What would Jesus accept? I doubt God is pleaaed with him following the world. 🙏🏿

No, in Spirit and in Truth means to believe the truth of God not the truth of yourself. Stop being self centered and start being God centered. Having bikini 👙 women in your music videos is not being true, that’s being of the world. This is not the truth of God. This is what is true of yourself.
