Steve Spagnulo should absolutely go to the hall of fame. His playoff defensive game plans have won 4 super bowls

What's so wild about the 70s Steelers is that the 76' team, the one that would have given them the 3peat, was generally considered the best team. They lost both their starting running backs right before the A.F.C. Championship game. During that season the defense went on a run of 9 straight games with 5 shutouts and a total of 28 POINTS ALLOWED FOR THE WHOLE 9 GAMES!!!!
@AFL67pitt2 күн бұрын
And their 3rd string RB & their 4th RB got hurt in game at the end the Tight Ends or Lynn Swan were lining up in the backfield

DK, I've seen this photo many times, displayed at the end of 74 Steelers America's Game feature. What i never noticed until today is Coach Noll actually having fun, look at the joy on his face, with his guys carrying him off the field in New Orleans! BTW once the Steelers HOF fatigue dies down i believe LC and Andy Russell will get in! Awesome show today sir! 😎

DK, my grandfather owned a welding shop in town for many years. And during the 70s he would “employ” some of the Steelers legends because they didn’t make that much back then (laughable to think now) and one guy he always spoke glowingly of was LC Greenwood. I grew up thinking of him as some Paul Bunyan, or other folk tale character, because of how my grandfather described him as a man and player. How is he still not in the hall of fame? The gold shoes should be enough on their own!

When at my 61 years old I live the results year after year of the team, I then remember the greatest moments of the 70's when I was very young and some of the exciting moments under the Cower era and, why not, when Tomlin still had some of the players of the generation that won a Super Bowl and reach another one. This means that we only have at this moment those great memories of what used to be a dominant and referent franchise in NFL. Thanks for bringing this up Dejan, regards Lazaro

I see what you're trying to do, DK. Good luck. You are not alone. The voices are getting louder. Made me also think of how close the Steelers were to a second dynasty period... which bumped into the peak Patriots era.

Well DK I agree 100 percent. I'm going to add one, somewhere around 50-55 years and standing. K.C. has a ways to go by that standard. The Eagles can change that as well. I also believe that Chuck Nolls defense would have shut them down like a bad habit. Thank you DK, Awesome

Another thing to add DK is that the 70s Stillers basically had a core of players that stayed together through the four Super Bowls. I believe something like 22 players collected four rings. How many Chiefs players will have collected four rings if they win next week? I can promise you it's not even close!

At least the Steelers are still the only team to win back to back twice. We’ve owned that record for 45 years, and I believe that’ll remain for some time to come. But rivals or not, I have no problem rooting for Philly in this upcoming rematch. Why not ? What Pennsylvania sports fan doesn’t want to see Barkley get a ring ? Go Eagles !!

Superstition was not in short supply during the Seventies. Super bowl X, same food, same drinks, everyone in the same seats, bobble heads properly positioned, but where's John?? When he strolled in at halftime he caught a full broadside form the room. He calmly reminded us that he hadn't come down until halftime for SB IX. Apologies flowed, superstitions remained intact, and SB X was in the bag, with Raymond knocking the Cowboy bobblehead over at the appropriate time.

The ultimate comparison down the road will be level of competition and the amount of Hall of Famer, so far the Steelers have Hall of Fame from those teams. While the Chiefs will probably have 2 Hall of Fame for sure right now. Always keeping in mind, the Steelers had to fight their way through other dynasties not just teams

Not even close. The stats that the 70s dynasty had are un matched. Plus we played the toughest teams of 70s doomsday Dallas. Purple people eaters. Raiders. Dolphins and others that were great teams. Our defense was ultra great. Chiefs are a good dynasty not Really great because of the competition they beat. Steelers The Greatest!!

Great video DK, with that being said how do you feel Bradshaw’s legacy as a all time great QB is impacted by the last couple of Dynasties in the leagues history seeming to be much more focused on the QB as opposed to the 70s Steeler having the defense take most of that attention? Fairly or unfairly it seems Bradshaw doesn’t get much credit as a cerebral QB

If andy reid wins a 4 Lombardi trophy, in 6 sb appearances he is right behind Noll onthe all time HC hierarchy tree ,a very possible additional Lombardi trophy inthe upcoming seasons, propels him past our Steelers Chuck Noll. My all time headcoach top ten lists ,no nepotism homer bond for my team Steelers allowed.1 Paul Brown 2 Bill Belichick,3 Vince Lombardi 4George Halas 5Curly Lambeau 6Noll 7Bill Walsh 8Joe Gibbs9 Don Shula 10 Andy Reid. Outside top ten ,Tom Landry,Bill Parcels,Tom Flores ,Tom Coughlin,Mike Shannahan ,Bud Grant, Marv Levy ,Dan Reeves . The patriots Belichick,Brady regime based upon Lombardi trophy's and longevity already passed our Steelers as the greatest dynasty, spy gate ,altering football scheme certainly played a part to a degree in the dynamic dynasty run ,yet even our former Steelers sb winning headcoach Cowher adamantly dismissed spygate as being the reason his teams lost against the Patriots in conference championships . Sadly ,numbers showcase dynasty patriots 6 sb wins opposed to Steelers dynasty 4 sb victories. Im pulling for the eagles in sb 59 to help keep Reid from getting closer to surpassing Noll . Go Steelers

I enjoy DK, but this is silly. As a lifelong Steelers fan from Washington, PA, I can honestly say the Steelers 70's dynasty is not the greatest. This will be unpopular to say, but the Patriots dynasty is the greatest of all time. From 2001-2019, the Patriots went to 9 SB's, winning 6. They were in the SB roughly once every 2 years, for 2 decades. There were plenty of HOF players on those teams and they dominated all the HOF QBs of that generation - Manning, Roethlisberger, Brees, Rogers, etc. To say the Steelers 70's dynasty is the greatest is just being a dishonest homer. And it makes us look petty.
