@@DeJesusCustomFootwear finally got through it all so here we go.. I have been using procreate for my stencil work but it seems photoshops the way to go because of all the extra manipulations and tools it has although their are a good ammount of the same tools to get it done on proC just not as easy.. how to find the right image on Google to use will help in a lot of detailed works in the future.. the registration marks as well as how to size all the sections together is going to save my brain on solving many math problems I've done to get the sizing right for all the sections.. and hopefully my favorite part I just hand painted my first pair of shoes for my son and when I would tape off sections it always peeled up the paint and I did many touch ups and had to stop using it, so hopefully the vinyl heat gun trick saves the paint on the shoes.. my only critique would be as your spraying each layer explaining what your laying down if you took the clips from the sections as you made them individually and showed that before you sprayed it, it could help follow along with the layer your working on.. All in all man, I'm glad your making videos because this was nothing short of a master class and I wish you all the success D!! Deff gonna follow your work 👍

You can use a projector to project the logo image onto the shoe and paint it by hand. Also, and this is quite a bit more expensive, if you have a Xtool P2 CO2 laser, you can lightly "burn" the line art of the image onto the shoe and paint it by hand. The Xtool P2 has the ability to burn onto curved surfaces. No need for stencils at all, unless you just want to use them.
@DeJesusCustomFootwear6 ай бұрын
Using the stencils speeds up the entire process. Thats why you’re not doing it by hand to trace the image onto the shoes first

If you have spray painted your sneakers with flat white spray paint can you then go back and paint the same shoes with the angelus leather paint after the spray paint has been on the shoes for a long while? I'm also guessing that you will have to use the leather preparer deglaze first.

Awesome video dejesus!! how long do you wait to peal the vinyl , I’m still getting a little bit of a problem with the paint chipping ?
@DeJesusCustomFootwear2 жыл бұрын
Make sure you heat the vinyl as you’re removing it. Surface has to be thoroughly prepped so that the paint will bond, and then anything past 10 mins is plenty of time.. I don’t suspect paint is peeling underneath the vinyl just cause you didn’t wait long enough

So lets say you don't have a silhouette printer or photoshop. Could this still be done using procreate to get the layers and a cricut for the stencils? Thank you for making this video. One day ill upgrade to a pc cause it will be easier to follow but for now gotta work with what I have.
@DeJesusCustomFootwear2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you should be able to do everything with a cricut that can be done on a silhouette. As far as procreate though you will definitly be somewhat more limited just because photoshop is so much more expansive where you can really fine tune things.. the most important thing is just being able to really get specific with your selections so as long as you can start to figure that out in procreate you’ll get the hang of it

I pretty consistently have an issue of the base layer of paint peeling away with the stencil when I remove it. Will heat setting the vinyl before removal help? Or am I making some other mistake?
@DeJesusCustomFootwear2 ай бұрын
I heat set every single time I remove vinyl. The other things coming to mind are: -potentially not enough prep. Most don’t like sanding but this is why I do it. -thin paint layers with lots of dry time in between
