Thank you so much! This video was so well-made (and so were the shoes.) I have a lot of trouble focusing on tutorial videos but you're very charismatic and easy to watch. My bf loves shoes and I wanted to plan a shoe-painting date. This is a great starting point :)

Can you use any adhesion promotor? Saw you used bulldog but its 3x the price of every other brand. Do you have any others you'd recommend. Love your channel. Thanks

Rustoluem brand , But still highly recommend bulldog

I have a question not related to the video but I recently watched your video from 4 years ago about branding and I was wondering if you have any cheaper websites that I could swap out?
@DeJesusCustomFootwear4 күн бұрын
All of those sites were all best prices we found at the time
This is my favorite episode thus far.All of them are incredible, but those Street Fighter AF1 High Tops are my favorites!

All of them are amazing, my favorite was the first pair by lagrimas de vincent. But I gotta know, who won this contest? I'm entitled to my opinion, but they're all incredible pieces of art, so I'd love to know who won this contest.

Would this work well with canvas shoes like high tops or similar Hash Bubbie shoes. My gf has drawn a bunch on with sharpies and I want to preserve the excellent drawings she has created as much as possible while still wearing and enjoying them on my feet.
@DeJesusCustomFootwear8 күн бұрын
Sharpie on canvas you don’t have to worry about cracking or chipping really. Just potentially smearing from moisture. I would say this would work or you can get away with a spray like a krylon matte finish

That was such a cool tutorial video, fitting as the last video in the tutorial playlist for me to watch. As with any form of art, attention to detail makes the piece whole.

This is very similar to how we did tattoos in prison, trace the image in pencil on tracing paper, then trace that with a blue pen, then apply a specific type of gel deodorant on the skin and then place the stencil on the skin and hold down for a couple of minutes then get to work. This a tried and true method of getting almost perfect art transferred anywhere. The biggest help you provided to me was that app SquareReady. That is a fantastic little app for resizing! Thank you again. I'm almost done watching all of your tutorial videos after sitting down for a week on this playlist.

I love behind-the-scenes videos like this! I see you have others helping you in this process. Do you all take on different pairs, or do you all take on different roles? (e.g. prep work, stencils, etc.) I hope you get compensated well for this work. Over 50 cleats in 2 weeks is insane!

2:19 "If you're one of those math people who maybe used to take a test back in school and see how many questions were left and how much time was left and start dividing that up to see how much time you had to answer each question... and... nevermind... just me?" No it wasn't just you. I did the same thing in class. I once did a ceramic pot where the inner part where the belly curves in and then bows back out to form the lip, I divided the pot into 12 equal separate sections where the sun would set and rise if you rotated the pot, that took quite a bit of math and measuring to get just right. Also, the reason I want to get into sneaker customization is because my favorite part of ceramics was always the glaze work (ceramic speak for painting) and I have a very steady hand. I know if I got into the hobby I would do well, plus as a sneaker and Hip-Hop head, I love custom kicks!

When customizing air for ones white do u suggest matte 4 coat or high gloss acrylic finisher can anyone help with the difference

We cover the difference in this video but it really comes down to the overall sheen. Majority of the time you probably want to go matte

Little bit of a grey area, but it’s important that you’re creating fan art rather than mass producing anything.

So, I've been addicted to these videos for the last two days. In that time, since I'm on break, I've watched 26 of your videos in this Tutorial Playlist. Dillon, you're videos are fantastically made, highly detailed and fun to watch. You make some great products and you're a natural teacher. That's a deadly combination, all I can say is that I've wanted to customize shoes for a long time and you've made it convenient to learn and put into practice the techniques required to do this. I have years of experience in glazing ceramics, so I've got a steady hand and those techniques directly transfer over.
