I don't think Ty Jones is worth half what he's gonna be paid playing on a directionless garbage team last year, his stats are exaggerated by his opportunities and lack of talent to compete against for the job. I mean they had Poole as their franchise player.... The team was just bad, though they are turning it around now thanks to ex-Hawk input. I hope some team other than Atlanta overpays for his services.

Seems like the Hawks go into “rebuild” mode every 3 years but never build anything. Starting to see why players decide to leave. Get to the ECF…the following season they get worse. Other teams (Celtics, Mavs..) get better each year but Hawks always take a step back. Trae will be asking out by mid season

We had no reason to pay Klay 50mil a season.... We don't have the space or even know what we're working with yet. Dallas does and made the NBA Finals.

I don't sign any player early unless it's team friendly.... Some players grab the life-time contract and lose their motivation... It depends on the player, but you could also see injury prone issues where a player likes having 16-32 games off every season and misses games because of a "hangnail" as well, which should be figured into a contract. If I miss a week of work every month... I don't have a job anymore. Pretty simple concept, I think. I absolutely love JJ! But let him develop and see his durability another season and see what it's worth. Alot of players seem to play better the year before they get a new contract.... I know, go figure! Too much, too easy, too fast can spell a disaster of secure indifference if your dealing with someone of "lesser" integrity. We're already dealing with that situation and don't need to compound it.

Wow, trading a player, then it falling through almost never turns out well for the team making the trade..... Hope that doesn't bite us later.... Murray doesn't "seem" like he's that "kinda" person. Always been very professional, but you know that trust level will never be fully repaired if it does. He did us a solid w/ his team friendly contract at the time and we tried to flick him away like a booger later. Can create resentment. Hopefully now that it's happened that NO's can still take the additional salary on. I have seen trades announced and agreed upon fall through on technicalities like failing a physical for example, not the same here, but it isn't impossible if both sides agree to call it off since it's not been made official by the league yet. I think that would just rub salt in our teams wounds we're trying to fix even more.

We should have a veteran pg like Patty was as something to fall back on in case of emergency. I like Fultz splitting time between pg and sg giving us more defense. I also like Gordon Hayward, never been a fan, but he'd be someone who could be similar to role Gallo was for us. Trae giving him open shots could prolong his late career and maximize his usefulness at a bargain price.

Yup, all on the owners, they business first which has it's place, but winning is 2ndary to profitability. LA gets more $$$ deals to supplement exaggerating their cap to win as well as being a "super" franchise in the history of sports. Market size isn't exactly exact lol. Hawks aren't on buttons and stickers everywhere making royalties like Lakers are.

Zach will not start at beginning of season... he's 19 playing against the "world's best" every night. He isn't a generational talent, nor was he owning Europe before being drafted. Just not gonna happen, sorry. Commen sense won't allow it unless we trade away Daniels and Bogey before season start.

We should trade Capela and keep Nance's expiring contract because we gotta open up money at center. We're paying 3 avg starting center salaries for 1 good starting center combined production. Okongwu I think is close but not quite at his ceiling. I see him being 15pnts ,12rb, 1.5blk. Capela and Nance make the same as him w/o enough minutes for the 3 and neither will produce as much as him. We should have a backup making 6-8mil and keep Bruno as our 3rd option to fill in. Hunter, deal to Detroit and take Fornier's salary, I don't think his contract has but 1 more year and we can get something else like a 1st from a team traditionally in high lottery range for giving them a way outta his situation that would probably love to say they made the play-in tournament. He can add value to Detroit rather than eating up dead-space on the end of the bench giving them "something" much better than nearly nothing for that money a season. Hunter can also start and teach the younger guys they have as a veteran on a young team or play 6th man along w/ fill in starter. Maybe Fornier is revived some by playing with a player like Trae who can hit him around the rim... He's also French, like we just drafted..... feeling buddy vibes now lol.😛I know it's a long shot, but just changing scenery and giving hope/opportunity could revive his potential. Yes, I know Fornier's played for more than his share of 2nd chances already lol.🤭 Hunter and Capela are gonna be lesser on most any other team/situation in the league. We overuse them so we overvalue them. Clint was great though, don't get me wrong, loved when we added him from Houston. Thought he was way underrated in the league stuck waiting for Harden to miss shots to ever touch the ball.

You want to free up some money Hawks FO....? I think this is a valid solution for us and Detroit, they can't want another repeat of last season. Landry, find some leverage and do what's been done to us these past few years. Read the situations of the other teams like they read ours and take advantage of. Fornier is comparable to Hunter in contract cost I believe. 19mil this season, think his last yr. Detroit has to be feeling lottery rookie and failed top #3 pick fatigue along with fan pressure to put a competitive product on the floor. Take some other trash and capital if we can toss in a solid starter in Capela. With what they have, adding Hunter and Capela would surely get them closer to playoffs than another 14 win season!

I play wait and see, earn it and get more. Both sides win. Cash early take less, it also works because it leaves improvement for more. But paying what's the max now/early is irresponsible. Great episode as always. You do a great job. One small suggestion/criticism….. and I’m guilty of doing the same thing….. sometimes your voice kind of gets quiet in volume towards the end of you saying something and at the same time, you’ll talk really fast. I wouldn’t call mumbling exactly. Not a huge deal, but sometimes I’ve had to skip back several times trying to understand what you were saying. You’re a good dude and you do a good job, I just wanted to offer that to you constructively. Maybe I’m the only one who has to rewind it occasionally . Keep up the good work.
