In 1953, The CIA overthrew the popular government of premier Doctor Mosaddegh. He had nationalised the Iranian Oil Industry. The British government owned the Iranian oil wealth at that time. British premier Winston Churchil ordered MI6 to overthrow Doctor Mosaddegh. The British intelligence did it with the help of the American intelligence agency CIA. The Iranian monarch Mohammad Reza Pahlavi also supported the coup. How did the CIA orchestrate this coup? Let’s find out.
