Dekton is extremely hard and has properties just like porcelain/cermic. My question is, have you dropped anything heavy on the countertop,? And have you experienced any chipping on the edges?

Hey sdot79...can you post a video of your Dekton Fiord countertops? The pictures online has a creamy tone with brown, but the small sample I've seen in person has more of a grayish tone with a little blue. I would love to see a full slab in a real kitchen environment. Also, due to the gloss, is it a finger magnet? Do watermarks stand out? Very interested in hearing your experience with the Fiord. Thanks!

Hey John, yes I will try to have something up later today. The color is more of a bluish gray color. They are a finger print magnet, but other than that they have been great. Water marks are no problem, I use glass cleaner and they are as good as new

Yes!! It is a great counter-top surface... i no longer own this version of dekton...im moved to x gloss line. The most important thing is getting a quality fabricator...this is critical. I believe most of the complaints of the countertop cracking is because of choosing a poor or inexperienced fabricator. Good luck and let me know what you choose. Can you tell me how the Dekton countertop is doing? I need to tell my counter people in a week or so. I am rough on kitchen counter and decided to use Dekton Entzo but hear about the chipping issue.

py Chien unfortunately I had major damage to my house so I no longer have the Dekton Aura...but the material is so good I replaced it with Dekton fiord. You won't regret it. I have not had any of the chipping issue I've heard, however I had a Dekton approved fabricator install it.

Really appreciate your response. Sorry to hear about your house. One question. The fiord is a more muted version. The Entzo and Aura is very similar, a sharper contrast Calcutta pattern. Can you tell me what is your opinion of the two now you live with both?

py Chien Dekton fiord is far better and visually stunning compared to matte finish of the Dekton aura. Xgloss finish on the fiord results in more visitors believing this is exotic marble material. With the aura from a distance they look great up close not so much.

Ive had zero issues with scratching with the xgloss.

@@jamalsawas1441 the non xgloss for sure... only complaint i have with Xgloss, is its very glossy therefore it will show finger prints....thats it. People often think its marble or some other high end stone... on the other hand, the standard dekton was often confused with formica....not a good look for something sooo expensive. If you are deciding... get the xgloss. Last point please make sure you use an experienced dekton installer. All of the complaints about cracking and chipping is from the install and not so much the surface.

Nowadays it is probably market dependent, but from $90 - $125, which is now on par with Quartz. Dekton use to be the most expensive C-top.

Depends but it still works if u double tap on an iPhone. It becomes full screen and I don’t have to adjust my grip to watch horizontally

Dekton sucks !it'll crack when you accidentally bump the sink cutout Denton is porcelain with a fancy finish not practical in my world!

I can confirm what Danny's said because it's happened to me. I bumped the edge of a counter with a "cup" which resulted in a big chip.

Danny, sorry to hear this happened to you, too! This happened to me as well. I just bumped the edge with a glass as I was loading the dishwasher. Glass is intact, Dekton countertop, big chip. Very sad for such an expensive product. Only installed 6 months ago.
