Wondering how your Dekton Fiord counters are holding up. I know Fiord has since been discontinued, but I am interested in this product.
@heidimorley8100 Жыл бұрын
Hi there I am very curious after a few years now of you owning Dekton how you have found your xgloss surface for scratches. I am looking at this product for a kitchen island and table for the primary purpose of being to put hot pots and pans on it.I know it is scratch resistant and I have a sample piece that I am testing at the moment. I have cut and tried pushing pans across it and it hasn’t scratched but I was then able to scratch it with the raw edge bottom of a coffee cup but with purpose and much trying. So I guess my question is have you placed/pushed hot pots and pans on it or found it has now scratched over the years? And if so, how badly and / or obvious? Hoping you see this and thanks

Hi Thanks for your review Just a quick question i really like the xgloss serious the Helena but some been telling me that it scratches easily because its high shine and harder to clean than the velvet finish what do u suggest knowing that you had both?? thanks

Ive had zero issues with scratching with the xgloss.
@jamalsawas14412 жыл бұрын
@@sdot79 thank you so much for your reply. From having both which do u think is easier to maintain?
@sdot792 жыл бұрын
@@jamalsawas1441 the non xgloss for sure... only complaint i have with Xgloss, is its very glossy therefore it will show finger prints....thats it. People often think its marble or some other high end stone... on the other hand, the standard dekton was often confused with formica....not a good look for something sooo expensive. If you are deciding... get the xgloss. Last point please make sure you use an experienced dekton installer. All of the complaints about cracking and chipping is from the install and not so much the surface.

You can have high nitrate and the anemone is ok. I’m talk in 100ppm++. If your anemone bleaches, there’s an element lacking in the water. I’ll let you figure that one out.

Beautiful countertops and we just ordered the Fiord for our kitchen. Install has been cancelled twice because when they went to cut it the material broke! They’re ready to do number three but we’re nervous wondering if it’s going to withstand daily use. The color looks totally different to what we saw in the store but it’s so beautiful.
@sdot792 жыл бұрын
i can tell you these counters are bullet proof..... the problem with Dekton is in the fabrication. Its very hard to cut and if not done correctly with shatter...i will tell you ive had them for years and other that applying glass cleaner to keep them looking clean thats it! Great stuff...just very expensive.
@charlitough2 жыл бұрын
Finally had our Fiord Dekton counters installed and are they ever stunning, so beautiful and I’ve found they are easy to keep clean. Not super happy with the install because I feel the seams could have been better and feel the flow of the pattern isn’t as good as it could have been. I’m still working with the company,on this so we’ll see how that goes.

I have kept a few mags over the years. The most successful by that I mean long lived I had for 6 or 7 years before I had to break the tank down. This mag dat under a 250w HQI lamp of 5400k only so a yellowish light by today's standard although back in the day it was consider a daylight lamp. These nems I believe are found at various depths from just below the surface to am not sure how deep. My last mag was kept under Radions but I found it didnt care much for my light spectrum. Si, rather than change the lights to a more white (it wasnt so blue anyway)I remembered how well my first one did under a warmer light so I purchased a LED spot light meant for freshwater tanks which was around 6500k. The spot light was only around 20w if I recall correctly. When I put the spot light on the nem immediately perked up under it and co tinted to thrive before that tank also had to be broken down and sold off. I have just purchased as I 2 days ago a mag for my D-D 1500 pro reef which is lit with 2 x Orphek V4 2s so will monitor it's progress and if necessary I will put another daylight spot over it but hopefully that won't be necessary we shall see.

Thank you for posting about Dekton countertops. Your first video was the one I watched when deciding on this surface. I chose to purchase the Dekton Bergen Xgloss. It looks better than what the website shows for sure. It's been only a few days since my countertops were installed but I am really enjoying it and how elegant it makes my kitchen look. There aren't many videos out there to showcase this beautiful and durable surface, so I really appreciate how thorough your videos are. One question I have for you, were you able to choose the thickness of your Dekton surface? I was only told that I could order a 2cm thick surface because that is what is allowed.
@sdot793 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry for the late reply, but thanks for watching! I did not get to choose the thickness, but based on how they cut it...they can make it appear thick based on the edges. I love x gloss!! Super easy to maintain and years later still looks really good. I'm glad I could help

Hi my friend I have a question what happens with the cracks I saw to many issues about that
@sdot794 жыл бұрын
Hey, 1st thanks for tuning in. I believe the cracks that users are reporting are based on the fabricators. Last i check... dekton is not fabricated in the same way as quartz or granite. This is my second install of this material and i have not had any of the issues reported by consumer reports. This is a great countertop surface that looks good and can survive common abuse no issue. My biggest problem with the counter top is certain angles shows finger prints...however most glossy surface do. Hope this helps.

Yes!! It is a great counter-top surface... i no longer own this version of dekton...im moved to x gloss line. The most important thing is getting a quality fabricator...this is critical.
