For the players, win or lose, these are the moments you remember and relish. That has got to be one electric atmosphere. Amazing. Don't we all wish to be the main character of a moment like that at least once in our lifetime.

PK, always forgotten when it comes to best one-handed backhands. Stylistically probably the best of them all.

That's exactly what I was thinking as I was watching it. They could use a higher-up angle for replays to show the whole court but this really gave you a feel for the speed and the hard hitting. Great video.

Kohl's footwork is ridiculous - I've never seen feet moving that fast on a court
@tungt887 жыл бұрын
Kohlschreiber is as tough as they come in pro tennis, and he has excellent "safety shots" (that you play when you're out of position) -- that's why he's over 30, and still in the Top 50, unlike Melzer and others. Philipp was never Top 10 material, but he has lasted in the Top 50 a lot longer than almost all of his peers in his age group.

what a quick movement from Kohl,, this is like a wild animal,,,
(stealing comment) from MCTENNIS on a discussion board b/c it says what i want to: "Great camera angle. WHY doesn't the Tennis Channel use angles like this for it's viewing audience? That angle really shows the skills, power, and speed of the players. " ps. was looking for the scores? and which round was it? I found results: maybe add them to the description, please: (6-7) (6-4) (7-5), 2nd round

not that i doubt you or anything. but can you show me some statistics which support your claim? just curious. i personally think that federer's half volleys and passing shots from the backhand side is better than kohl. also, federer mostly uses the slice to slow the point down and hope to hop around to the forehand not because he cannot rally with his backhand. if you think federer is scared of using his backhands and thus uses the slice then i believe you don't understand the pros' game well.

@thisnamealsotaken Everything you say is wrong. Last year fed beat prime djokovic 3 times in a year in his old age. He is way past his prime and he is still pushing nole to the limits in slam finals. If that doesn't prove he is the best I do not know what does!

Its doesnt just look better,but in fact its really better. Gasquet>Wawrinka>Kohl>Almagro>Fed>Dimitrov in one-handers
@fathemi13 жыл бұрын
@fathemi maybe so.. but we dont really know how fed would have preformed had he been born earlier into that era, obviously he wouldnt have been AS succesful.. but then niether would have sampras, if he had been stuck with fed. ALSO my point still stands... although Sampras was older, he had alot more experience than fed at the time.
@fathemi13 жыл бұрын
@thisnamealsotaken well he did beat Pete sampras while he was still at his best... and im not denying that Agassi would have had a much better chance if he was younger. and why do you assume that i used the old excuse on his 2008 and 2010 losses? he obviously isnt perfect, and is going to lose some grand slams, doesnt mean he isnt ONE of the best tennis players that have ever lived.
@fathemi13 жыл бұрын
@thisnamealsotaken of course fed isnt as good now... hes older, reaching the end of his prime... its only natural... he's still the best tennis player that the world has ever seen though, or at least ONE of the best.

vamos delpo! vamos argentina!
@thisnamealsotaken13 жыл бұрын
@fathemi no im not, sampras became 30 3 weeks after that match, quit tennis for 2 yrs and came back just to play the us open and retired then. so basically he was at the very end of his career. there is no doubt sampras is a better player than fed, cus getting 14 slams in an era with greats like agassi, becker, edberg, lendl etc is way better than amassing 95 procent of 16 slams in the aweful era of 2004-until 2008 (by beating bums like bagdathis, philipousis, gonzalez, roddick in the finals).

@fathemi13 жыл бұрын
@thisnamealsotaken hahaha your wrong about sampras.. fed 1st beat him when he was only 29... and fed was only 19. Sampras should have won that game - although he was older, he had a shitload more experience than fed did. as for the whole 'Old excuse' thing. ive only ever started using that now.. seeing as he is actually not as fit as he once was DUE to age. as for agassi, well that man was legendary. would have been interesting to see how a prime fed and a prime agassi game would have gone down.
@Saskobest11 жыл бұрын
Kohl hits more winners on avg than Fed,less errors then Fed,makes more returns in play on Bh than Fed and can play long rally's without using his slice very often. Still if you think that Fed bh is better i respect that i dont have anything bad to say.

@fathemi yes we do know; when fed came across a prime nadal and djokovic and delpo etc etc he got his ass kicked. so what would u think would happen if he came across a prime agassi or sampras, guys who are even better than nadal and djok??? cmon man.

@Voidy59211 жыл бұрын
nah, he can be more agressive with his backhand, but his wrist action, his slice, his top spin, and his consistancy are worse then federer's in my opinion anyways! nothing wrong with your personal list!

@fathemi problem is u dont read or understand my comments; i told u he got his slams in an era full of bums, an era whr past greats like sampras, agassi, becker, lendl etc were gone and whr future greats like nadal, djokovic, murray, delpo etc hadnt arrived to the top yet. even my grandma could have broken sampras record then lol. im not sayin hes not a good player, im sayin hes not as great as the media and the dickriders make him out to be. a prime djokovic or a nadal are way better than him.
