Great stuff. I stated on Herons, then Rollins, the first optonics up to XL conversions with GP0 speakers before wonderful your wonderful Delkims arrived…what a revelation. Because that I had mounted alarms in tandem, a roller wheel optonic with an antenna alarm behind it so I knew when a fish still held the line taught but without pulling line. That worked great but was clumsy and unnecessary when your vibration sensing alarm did that all in one for the first time and with incredible sensitivity. Without doubt it has caught me fish undetectable by other alarms. I still remember a still dawn, getting a single bleep. Watching the line entering the water I couldn’t even see a twitch. But I trusted the alarm, something had gone on and I decided if it twitched again ai would hit it. Another single bleep and I did just that…and it was a mid 40lb mirror. To this day I think that fish would have got away with it using any other alarm. And it all the years only a couple of my older ones have failed me, they have been that reliable in all weathers. Great to see you handing over the batten so that the family can carry on the good work. Nice to hear the truth about what really went on at last!

After spending many years constantly upgrading/re-engineering my old Heron's to no avail (those were the days when we had to make everything ourselves). Anyway I finally bought a pair of the first Delkim's (missed the Optonics step) and in over 20 years use they have been faultless, despite some very wet conditions, that is, until a few days ago when I managed to drop them in the lake. When I finally managed to retrieve them they were soaked through and not happy bunnies.. As I found out that you no longer supply spares etc for these, I went home and picked up a pair of my TXI plus alarms (which I use for long sessions) and put the soaked ones on the radiator (with the battery removed ). The next morning I was amazed that they were working ok again. I would never consider any other alarm other than Delkim I think they are so well made, reliable and British. I now 2 ("resurrected" 🙂 originals) and 5 TXIs, plus receiver. Which I feel will all outlive me. All the best Del, I love your story and the fact that you are truly a family business. Tight lines

Del, you are obviously an impressive person. It's great to see enthusiasts like you out there advancing fishing with your ideas. I thank you very much for thinking up the unique Piezo system and bringing it to market and your family to keep it in the market. It's even nicer that it's a true family business! I am a long-time and loyal user of your bite indicators (have been using Txi-D for two years now) along with Delkim accessories and will definitely remain so as long as I remain loyal to fishing. For me, there is simply no alternative that would convince me as much as your products. Best regards from Germany to you and your family. Cheers, Alex

I hated my new ones , I loved the Txi,s but I had a whole set play up in torrential rain, they weren’t good in the wet , Losing sensetivity the wetter they got , shame i loved them alarms too , Fox ones now and roller wheels , so much better on 110 acres windswept pit

They work the same as every Delkim ever has. For slow drop backs you need higher Response/Sensitivity and more weight to take up the slack in the line.
