I first saw Joe in San Diego in 1969 with Mad Dogs and Englishmen. I was in the Marines and I couldn't get a pass to get off base. I went over the wall. There was no way I was going to miss that concert. My God I am going to miss that man! I was so thrilled at the concert that I couldn't sleep that night. Oh yeah, I made it back over the wall, pass the Marine Corp Sentries and just plain danced (or floated) back to my barracks (where there was a party going on after lights out) What a night! I am just sick he is gone from us now. I hope he is in a better place. He deserves it. Can't believe it has been over a year now. RIP my man.

I'll be the first to admit that Joe Cocker was way beyond his prime days in this concert, and couldn't hit some of those high notes like he used to, but even so, somebody who had never seen him before had to be impressed with this performance. He died from lung cancer just a year or so after this amazing performance, so he literally sang and entertained large crowds until almost the end of his life, which by itself is also amazing. After the Lord made Joe, he must have broken the mold, because there was nobody else like him. R.I.P. Joe, I will miss your music.

Je suis à 100% OK avec votre Témoignage, Commentaire, Michael David, I now Joe Cocker many many long time.......60 ans environ depuis mon adolescence et je l'aime toujours autant, BELLE ENERGIE HUMBLE PERSONNE ARTISTE COMPLET, Un sens du Rythme, inspiré de son époque la SOUL MUSIC, LE RYTHM AND BLUES, LE ROCK, LE JAZZ......Je suis une inconditionnelle de sa musique avec les Pink Floyd, BOB DYLAN, JANIS JOPLIN, TINA TURNER et tant d'autres que j'oublie parfois car je vieillis comme tout le monde.......La mémoire et la mer dirait Léo Ferré, .............

@@donaldduck2139 I agree - same is true for Rick Hall - founder of FAME Studio in Muscle Shoals. Hall had a hand - a significant role - producing DOZENS of hits we all know and love - not in the Hall. I smell a rat.

Just now caught this concert purely by accident. Watched it with my jaw dropped open as I hear that inimitable and powerful chain-saw voice, witnessed the same passion and expressive movement in each number. He tore a hole in the atmosphere with "A Little Help From My Friends"!
